EASY in the PM not AM
« on: June 27, 2007, 14:30:56 pm »
Quick question...my mom watches my dd who is 4 and a half months old.  They usually run out and about in the morning.  My dd naps off and on, but does eat about every three hours...trying to extend to the 4 hour easy.  Then they try to be home by the afternoon so she can take a big afternoon nap.  Is this ok?  Her schedule is pretty good in the afternoon, but not in the morning.  I hate to insist that they keep her home.

Our routine many times is not EASY either because DD is at a sitters during the day.  The main thing is if she is sleeping at night and doesn't seem overtired - if those things are ok, I wouldn't stress!  If they aren't ok, then it may be time to start tweaking.  HTH!

Well, some naps outside are not so bad, however when its daily thing and she does not get proper sleep, it could make her overtired and though she may not take her afternoon nap. Maybe they can go out every other day?
Just a suggestion, if she is doing fine, then thats good.

I agree.  I personally would go out one day and then stay in the next.  It's good, when naps are a little off and they aren't getting good quality sleep due to being out, to stay in one full day so it doesn't cause them to become overtired as you don't want her night time sleep to get messed up or for her to have poor naps, etc.  If she takes a good nap while out than that is a different story as some will do that and they are fine.  At 4 months, they normally take two longer naps and one cat nap.

Can they go out while she is awake and make it home for her naps? The best time to run around at this age (if you need to go out during a nap) is during that cat nap time.

However, all of this needs to be completely up to you.  If your lo is not having any side effects then maybe she will be fine with it as all los are different.  Mommy knows best!  :D
