Catnap with 3.5 EASY?
« on: June 29, 2007, 00:14:48 am »
My 4 month old DS is transitioning over to 3.5 EASY (we tried last week but he went through a major growth spurt and was eating every 2.5-3 hours!). My question is whether or not to do a catnap in the evening. I've looked at the sample guide here, and 2-2.5 hours of A time seems like too much in the evening. (wake from 3rd nap at 5:30, then E, A, E at 7:00/7:30 and S at 7:30/8). Tonight my DS woke at 4:45 from his 1.5 hour nap (we started at 6:45 am), and was lights out by 6:45 pm. Do most keep their LO's up this long before bed, or do some do a catnap? Or would a catnap be too close to bedtime?

Thanks a bunch,
Jessica

Well when your LO can handle 2 hours A time in the evening, I would go with it. Especially if he wakes from last nap 4.45. Thats the time when usually cat nap starts, but then bedtime is about 7, but you have him sleeping by 6.45, I would say it OK.

And especially if he sleep good, this of course depends how was his day.
