Powder and ready to feed
« on: August 04, 2007, 23:07:00 pm »
Can you easily switch from powdered to ready to feed?  Could I go directly from one to the other, or should I transition slowly, etc.  It is the same brand and type.

My one year old is on Nutramigen and the nurse at our Dr's office offered all of the ready to feed they have (18 cans of 1 quart) on hand.  (We've already cleaned her out of the powered.)  We have always done powered, but Nutramigen is SO expensive, that this would be a Godsend.

Thanks for any input.

I personally used both, whatever I had at the time.  If I ran out of poweder, then Id go with  the ready to feed.  From what I know, and teh dr had told me, they are all the same.  I think the hard part id getting them used to powder if they are only used to ready feedm since its little  thicker sometimes, but, you should nt have any problems.  Let us know how it goes, Christie

I agree with Christie,

We used powder feeds when at home and when we were out and about would take the odd carton with us as it was just so much easier.

It is a little thicker and creamier, but my DS never seemed to notice the difference.

Let us know how you get on.

We gave it a go yesterday with no problems!  He loves his bottle, which helps.

Thanks again for your help.
