How much more food is normal during growth spurt?
« on: August 16, 2007, 13:48:49 pm »
I don't know if there may not be a definitive answer to this but I am trying to get a gauge for how much more food is "normal" during a growth spurt.  My DD is 5mo old and typically eats about 7oz during a feeding throughout the day.  However, during the past week or so, she seems to just want to keep eating in the morning.  Today for example, she took almost 1hr to eat the initial bottle of 7oz (this has been happening lately despite going to a bigger nipple) and then 2hrs later when I was putting her down for a nap she wanted more.  She has had 8oz so far and still won't settle to sleep.  Babies can't overeat, right?  I just can't believe she is still hungry.  I know she's tired as well but I guess hunger wins out.

Thanks ladies...Joanna

Do you think your lo is wanting to self soothe, and is using the bottle as comfort?
