Hi Kelly - first off {{{big hugs}}}
Our children are less than 2 weeks apart, Olivia did this as well not too long ago. her eye teeth are poking through, she(we) has always had a terrible time with teeth & yes, this is a huge part of the sleeping problem you are going through, IMO of course. It lasted about 3 weeks, a few days I thought we were back on track & she wakes up from a nap or to start her morning & I KNOW she is not her usual self right away...so rather than being frustrated by it I tried even harder to amuse her with little "quiet" type games, trying to take her mind of her misery(& mine too
) Seems to have helped. those 3 weeks seemed like forever going through them, but now that I look back it was not so bad - we as mom's always fear or anticipate the worst, & when it's not so bad we are not any more relaxed because we've just stressed ourselves so bad - I really wish there was a healthy no side affect chill pill, KWIM
.
Anyhow, I think the boys are growing mentally.
In the last 3 weeks Olivia's vocabulary has added about 15 new words that she uses daily & her memory is so unbelievable - I can't believe my little baby is officially a little girl with huge Independence & likes to be offered choices. Take a step back one day & absorb how big the bays are & how far you have come - you have done an EXCELLENT job raising not one child but TWO!!! Hats off to you!
