Lol M2W, I am from Ireland originally, I usually think chips are fries, but you never know. I am still getting used to calling them "fries" after 5 years of living in the USA, you would think it would have been easier since fries are not really chips anyway, at least not as I know them!

yeah...when in rome do as the roman's do...we always switch gears back and forth when we are traveling between the UK and the states...it's funny how sometimes we will say "chips" when we mean fries after a UK visit...one way for me to remember is even in the states, fish n chips is still fish n chips...all the same there and here...but when you want a sandwich and chips, you'll be gett'n potato chips not fries here in the states.  ;D

And you hoover the rug over there...or put your stuff in the boot of the car...all kinds of funny differences in a language that is basically the same. ;)

BTW ~ Weston ate a great dinner...he's been eating more and more 'real' food lately...which I'm glad for! Harder to ensure a balance and healthy intake,...but the independence is a must before Baby #2 arrives and she's potientally coming a month early (if the lungs are ready...the OB wants to induce early)

So are potato chips what we in the UK call 'crisps?'  ???

Luke was at nursery yesterday and ate -

Wake - bottle 8oz
Breakfast - raisin toast and yoghurt
Snack - crumpet with butter and jam
Lunch - chicken hot pot with potato and broccoli, custard with stewed apricots
Snack - banana and raisins, 5oz bottle
Tea - egg sandwich
Bed - bottle 8oz

Water throughout the day

Today:

1.5 weetbix for breakfast with milk and honey
Not sure what she ate at daycare, but I sent - 1 tin pureed fruit, 1 banana, 1 cream cheese sandwhich (2 slices bread), 1 arrowroot biscuit, 1 yoghurt.....
Dinner - at 5 mouthfuls (with much coercion) of pureed vegies, 1 bit of fish, and 1/3 of a "french fry' ;)
We will offer her a 250ml bottle of formula, but I just know she wont' finish it.....

Yep potato chips are crisps....I think.

I'm having lots of luck at the moment with risottos...

I take a bunch of veggies (at the moment I'm using a mix of peppers, zucchini, carrot and green beans), chop them in the food processor, freeze in ice cube trays and then throw the mix into anything and everything.

Lunch today was brown rice with 4 cubes of veggie mix cooked in, bit of left over chicken cut small and added, then a bit of cream and grated cheese to make it all good and sticky - dd has to be able to get some of it in herself else she gets mad! Then some apples chunked up and stewed with cinnamon and cloves for 5 mins.

Dinner most days is some sort of soup, probably veggie noodles soup today.

Breakfast is our problem. today she had 200ml milk on waking then about 3 spoons of cereal (dry is prefered  ::)) and a bite of banana. I should probably ditch the milk, but she normally only wants to eat dry bread...

My DD did not start eating breakfast until I ditched the morning bottle also.  Now, since it is one or the other, I give the morning bottle if I am in a super super hurry....it is quicker and cleaner LOL.

How long 'should' lo's eat pureed fruits, veggies, etc.?  I am sure there isn't a time limit but I was wondering if anyone knew what the average was?  Grace still loves them and eats very few bites of 'adult' food so I have to offer pureed stuff to finish off most meals anyway.

Ha, ha..Gracie has a way to go before she catches up with Weston...Weston still prefers pureed over non-pureed foods...so I let him have them...he's getting quite good at eating a full container without making a mess on his own...but I'm sure most people stop the baby food long before I have.

For us, Weston has days where he eats mostly pureed and other days where he won't eat any, he'll prefer the whole food version of veggie or fruit, etc...I personally don't see any harm...he eats both non-pureed and pureed, to his liking...and I know the pureed food is healthy, so I actually feel good knowing he's getting a good dose of veggies or fruit, when he won't eat it in the 'whole' form.

What I wonder is those baby jars come in 4 or 6 ounce servings and what is that equal to in the scheme of serving sizes for a toddler? (he's not quite 2, you can see his age in my signature ticker) :)

MEL:  I would give anything if Zach still ate the pureed vegetables.  He want touch vegetables at all now.  If I were you I would give them to her as long as she wanted....

Does she eat any finger foods, etc.  Oh.. I just saw she is only 11.5 mos. old....  I would not worry to much with it right now...

Riley ate:

Breakfast: Bowl of cereal and some apple slices
Lunch: 8oz yoghurt, brocolli cheese quiche and lots of peas
Dinner: really thinly sliced turkey, jar of pureed sweet potatoes. Lots of peas, lima beans and brussels sprouts (he loves all those vegetables)

Rice Milk and water throughout day. Oh, half a banana for pm snack.
This is so much for him. I usually don't have much of a list to post, mostly lurk for ideas.

Weston is liking cheese lately...the little round bonnie bell cheeses are his favorites this week...sometimes it's string cheese, sometimes it's just slices of whatever cheese we are eating, but this week it's been the round bonnie bell's wrapped in wax.  :)

Stacy - DS loves the fruit smooshies, too - they were fantastic through his last illness and teething round.  Have you tried their zippy fruit? - kind of like sunrype fruit to go but not that same, gummy, sticky texture and there's a whole apple in each one
