Yeah I know, it's craziness. I can't call the allergist himself, they won't do a thing without a referral from the family doctor. Probably because I don't pay anything out of pocket, if I was a paying customer I'm sure they'd want my business right? But when it's the government paying I have to follow all the steps and wait. It's already been 3 weeks, I hope they call soon.
I know for sure that he can handle:
Neocate
Rice Milk and/or anything to do with rice such as rice puffs, rice cakes.
Sweet Potato
Squash
Pear
I think he can handle chicken, but I'm going to wait another week until his eczema clears up more so I can tell if he reacts to it.
I keep giving him stuff, thinking it's safe, then finding out he cannot tolerate it. Yesterday he ate some Toddler Mum-Mums organic. The ingredient list looked good, then I saw it had Gelatin in it. Well today I found out that gelatin usually comes from beef and/or pork, sometimes fish. Well I had no idea it was an animal byproduct, so I don't know if this is why his eczema seems to be lingering, we'll see. I e-mailed the company who makes those biscuits asking where exactly their gelatin comes from. He may not react to it at all, but I cannot be sure. Should clear up totally by Sunday, least the stuff on his face and hands.
I want to try more, but it's a slow process when he reacts to something it sometimes takes a day or two for me to realize it, then a week to clear up his symptoms before I try something new. Not sure what to try next, guess I'll try green beans or peas and hope for the best. I should just stick to the basics from now on lol.
