C has started to do 'mostly' 11.5h nights now, this seems pretty standard at last, she sometimes does a 12.5 or a 10.5 (very rarely) so her routine is pretty much the same most days...

wu 7.30
A time 5 hrs 15
Sleep 12.45-3.00 (I usually wake her to preserve BT)
A time 5 hrs
BT 8.00

The wierd thing is sometimes this routine will give us an 11.5h STTN without a peep and then others we get long NWs, I just can't figure her out. When she has long NW she tends to sleep in in the morning until 8.00 or even 8.30, then our day is slightly different but I try to get her down for her nap at the same time and keep BT at 8pm. I don't think she is teething ATM, no signs anyway.

I do think OT has become an issue because C has done her first week (2.5 days) at her new daycare and isn't sleeping well there. If I do an early BT she will not tag the lost sleep onto her night though and just wakes earlier making her even more tired. But from Wed lunchtime she has had really good 2.5h naps at home so wouldn't that get her out of the OT and would she sleep that well if she was OT? Last night was the best in ages with only one 10 min NW and I didn't PU just settled her with a hand on her back. Yesterday went...

wu 8.30 (let her lie in due to bad night with a 2 hr NW)
A time 4.5 hrs
Sleep 1.00- 3.30 (let her sleep as long as she wanted to make up for the bad night)
A time 4.5 hrs
BT 8.00

Can OT cause long NWs though? They tend to be either around midnight or 2am, not in the early part of the night like OT usually is. Maybe I should stop waking her from her nap and let her sleep as long as she wants to? What do you think?

Usually OT related NW's are before midnight but that's not set in stone.

I would probably say that it's more than likely that starting daycare might have thrown her off track a little (which is to be expected). OT can build over a few days & in my experience, one day of poor naps can catch-up with LO's a day or so later.

I think you are right to let her catch-up when she's at home so you could leave her to sleep as long as she needs on non-nursery days.

It will probably take her a few weeks to adjust to being at daycare & hopefully she will start sleeping longer there!

Hi Sian, the NW are teething related! C has cut another molar, but there were no other signs except for the NW and because she wasn't crying I haven't been giving pain meds. Poor thing! Anyway have dosed her up tonight and we will see if that helps, as it has only just poked through and took her a week to get back to normal last time. Fab news is that through all this she has still been falling asleep independently without me in the room, am so pleased about that.
