My LO has been acting weird the last 2 days. I think she's teething. She's been putting herself into overtired mode and taking a long time to fall asleep. Yesterdays nap ended up from 1-3pm when she should of been sleeping by 11pm. I put her in bed at 7pm and it took her until almost 9pm to fall asleep. Although she did do it on her own. This has happened many of times and it always goes away and she goes back to normal.

I think I did a smart thing this morning though. She woke at 6am and I was going to let her stay up until closer to 11am, but at 10:20am....she was acting tired and I just knew she's getting herself into this cycle of poor sleep. So I took her upstairs and put her in the crib and said good night. She was sleeping within 15 minutes or so. It's 12:34pm and she's still sleeping. She'll probably wake soon. actuallY might even hear her now.

Maybe ONE night, put her to bed extra early. If she's been in overtired mode...she might need one EARLY night. My doctors says NOT every baby sleeps a lot. Some just sleep less than others. My Lo normally sleeps a good 10-11 hours at night...if she's doing good and a good 2 hours during the day.

I don't know if I directly answered any questions, but hopefully some of my experience helps you a little.

Emily went to sleep well last night.  She did not wake up until 6:30 this morning.  I had all the intentions of getting her down for an early nap.  We had a couple of visitors today though. She had lunch at 11:40 and was asleep by 12:00.  I am hoping it is just taking her a few days to adjust to not waking up at night.

Emily fell asleep last night around 8:00.  I did not hear her until 6:30.  She rolled around for a few minutes then went back to sleep until 7:30.  We have made it about a week now with out  a sippy at night!!!  I just hope I don't fall back into the habit when teething is back.  Thanks again for all your help.

I know it has been a few days, but I just wanted to report back to both of you.  We have had some really good nights and one really rough one.  We have been much better at putting her to bed at 7:15 instead of 7:30.   It still takes her a while to go to sleep though.  Not sure if I am doing enough with her to wind down or if that is just the way she is.  She has been sleeping until 7:00 or 7:15.  Usually when she wakes up she will make a few noises and go back to sleep.  Is this considered sleeping through the night?  I usually do not have to go in with her except for 2 nights ago.  She was up from 2:30-4:00.  I would do pd and walk out.  She would settle for about 20 minutes and then start up again. Not sure if that night was teething, overtired or just a set back in sleep training. Thanks again for all your support.  I knew I needed to stop the sippy at night, but I think I had to be ready to do it first.  She could have done it a long time ago.

Is Kaleb still in the crib?  Just wondering because when Emily wakes up she usually stands up.  I worry that when she is out of the crib it will be hard to keep her in the bed.  I am glad to hear that she  is considered "sleeping through the night"  Again, I wish that I had worked on this a long time ago!!!
