ACK!! just go to sleep

OK so mostly I'm jsut venting.

DD and I have both been sick for about a week now Bad caugh and congestion issues.

She's been waking up every night between 3-5am and crying untill she's sick she wants to go to Mommy and Daddy's bed. I don't have an issue with that, we let her if she is sick. The problem is she'll then cry for an hour before going back to her bed, because Daddy isn't there. My DH is working 12am-8am this week untill Wed. So he isn't home at night. DD is by far a daddy's girl, she sometimes just doesn't want me at all, just daddy. Normally this isn;t an issue, but its been 4 days of this and I am sooooo tired.

Now she wont nap either  go figure. She's been in her room for 2 hours, she is tired, she's got the red eyes and she's yawning and whiny and I wont take her out cause all she does is cry, but she wont sleep    I don't know at this point if she is ever going to nap, now DH sleeps all days cause of the midnight shift, but I am exhosted, the house is falling apart and I feel like I am failing at all angles here. I can't seem to get things under control 

I know things will settle again, especially when she is no longer sick, but it feels like its taking so long.

Oooh just had an idea.could DH give DD something that smells of him (like a jumper or something) so that when she comes in the bed shes sort of with daddy.might be a stupid idea but i thought i'd put it out there.

Is she still sick Kimberly?

Have your tried tylenol or cough medicine?  Do you have vaporiser or humidifier?  maybe if she is more comfortable then she wont wake and then wont be upset

We're in the same boat, minus the sickness.  For the second day in a row, Jalyn is refusing her nap... she's been in bed for 2.5 hours, which would be fine if I didn't have to be up there every 15 minutes (that's the longest... more like every 5).

This on top of taking care of dd1 and recovering from surgery dh

she never did nap.. thats 2 days now..

she has a vics vapor plug in her room, I give her motrin and caugh meds, she just seems to wake anyway we'll see

she seems to be feeling a little better this afternoon so maybe tonight will be better.

I just wish I felt better, its hard to be patient with her when I'm just as sick, DH is no help because he sleeps all day, which I understand, but its still hard..

well the good news is she seems to be back on track *fingers crossed*

She went to bed last night at 6pm and was asleep by 6:30pm. I thought forsure she was going to be up early, but she slept right through untill 6:30am.

When she got up this morning she was not caughing, and had no fever so I think she's in the clear now.

I was going to suggest that daddy tell her is going to have to go to work, and give her a particular toy or something, and tell her that while Daddy isn't there, this toy will be looking after her for him....

has just been suggested to me for severe SA  my 19mo has with her daddy

Glad to hear she is on the mend Kimberly

I agree with Rina, when I have to work in the mornings I am always gone before the boys get up so I always tell them the night before that I wont be here in the morning but I will see them after B's nap.  That way they arent upset in the morning that i am not there

thats a great idea... maybe we'll try that. Thankfully DH has only tonight left with midnights. We'll deffinitly have to do that next time though.
