Heck Aisling...I want to cuddle up with him!  He's such a cutie and the bed and room sound just lovely!

LOL Stacy, I am feeling inspired too!
said to dh tonight that we should at least order one. I was planning on buying a toddler bed but I've changed my mind now...a bit sad though because I have great pbk bedding that is only being partially used (due to the grobag)

now its twin vs full...hmmm.

Aisling and Kelly, sounds like you guys are doing so well. I'm amazed with these 8am sleep ins.....how lovely those would be.

we only chose a twin because it was a freebie :-)

not wanting to jinx things, but we've had two lie-ins till 8am these past two days as well. then a 3.5 hour nap today  :o DH didn't have the heart to wake him. think we have a mental growth spurt on our hands.

offering the choice is what we did stacy, until he was used to it, and then the crib went byebye on freecycle yesterday. he loves it, and threw himself into it yelling "SLEEP!" yesterday. good luck!

Deb, the 8 am wake ups are awesome but I'm not sure if they are bed related, more like late night holiday catch up IYKWIM.  Although up at 7:30 today 8)  He did get up at 12:45 and come into our room and when I said "Hey" he ran back to his room and into his bed.  I tucked him in, didn't say a word and put his angel back on. He then said from his room "Shhhh-usht!" (he is imitating me ::)) laughed a bit and then I have no clue as I fell back asleep.

We also are surprised that we don't need a gate.  When going to sleep at night he stays in his bed pretty much or if I hear him fooling around out of the bed, I go to the door and say "Back in bed." most times he is already jumping into the bed as he hears my footsteps coming down the hall.  Sometimes he peeks his head out the door on his hands and knees but he never comes out  :o of the room and then I say "goodnight" and he scurries back in his room.  I so remember doing this as a child.  I was dying to know what the adults were doing out there.   ::)

Stacy, go for it.  The bed in the room is a great idea. We've had that futon in there since birth and he only asked one time back in Aug at nap to sleep in it (slept only 40 min, so that was the end of that!)  I highly recommend getting him involved with the take down of the crib as it put closure on it for him.

I love the double bed, no rail.  I especially love going in to do the before my bedtime to check on him and I have a little lay beside him, it is the only time I can snuggle with him with out him wriggling around...ahhhh....so nice.... thanks ladies for saying he is a cutie too.

Let us know how it goes for you guys.

Can I join in again as Lisi's back in her room?  ;D

So far so good - sleep has been the same as always, waking between 7 and 7.30 and then coming for a cuddle, or rather shouting for us to come get her for a cuddle. Between the toddler rail and the sleeping bag she's in she's fairly immovable  ;)

I have a strange daughter, I know - she asks to go to bed, particularly after lunch. She is also a slow waker and I can usually get a good 20 mins or 1/2 hr cuddle out of her in the morning  ;D Her current favourite game is playing at taking a nap - dh or I have to get tucked up in the futon in her room, get given stuffed toys, then she climbs in to her bed and has a quick 5 minute snooze. That or she'll be mummy and sing me something approaching twinkle twinkle whilst stroking my face. I love that one!!
