yestedays pm nap was fine, I woke him at 4:25 and then he went right to sleep at 8pm...woke at 4:45 and BF then and right back to sleep and woke for day 7:15am..

but today??
woke 7:15am
nap 10:20/10:25-11:10--I woke him 45 or 50 min or so.
nap 2 down at 2:40--but then was standing and crying at 2:50--so I had to go in and lay him down and he then went staright to sleep about 2:55 I think.
but then woke at 3:50?? so maybe another 45 or 50min nap? he didnt wake crying. I only heard him hit his crib a few times and then was crying.

so naps were sort of crap today and Ill be aiming for a 7:30ish bedtime.

well Im thinking Ill try a 40min am nap first, make sure its not 45 or 50min, limit to 1 sleep cycle. thing is his first awake time is still only 3hrs--like he goes right to sleep then.

well
asleep last night at 7:45 and woke at 3am -BF then and then he woke at 6:20 with a p**p, he was crying and I got him back to sleep from 6:45-7:15.
so nap 1 was 10:15-10:55, I woke him.
nap 2 in bed for 2:40, but its 3:05 and he is not sleeping. i was hopeful but then he was standing and shakeing his crib rails and crying, so I did go in there and help him back down and now he is just chatting away, interspersed with crying.

the only thing that may have messed us up was going for a walk--maybe this rested him too much.

cant believe I may have to move to a 30min am nap. I would be more inclined to do so if he was takeing longer to fall asleep in the morning like if his A time was closer to 3.5hrs.

well its 3:30pm and he is still not asleep. :'( :'(

um he was crying again, so again I went in there and sang our song and put him down and he cried when I put him down and then it sort of sounded like he was settling, but now he is just shakeing his crib rails and talking..

what the hell should I do now?

ok, so maybe Im overthinking again..

do you think that is I was to extend his first A time to 3.25 and working up to 3.5hrs that maybe a 40min am nap wouldn't leave quite as rested and he would go down easier in the pm?

I mean if I do cut the am nap to 3omin after a 3hrs A time, thats basically means his pm nap will move forward to 1:30--and then if this nap is over after 1hr20min--it leaves a long time til 8pm.

well he was asleep last night at 7:45, woke at 2am, and then woke for the day at 6:45am--so a bit early..
will probably try to get as close to a 10:15am nap as possible.

ok, so he was fine this morning and I put him down at 10:20--he was quiet right away, so Im assuming he fell asleep pretty quickly and then I woke him at 10:57 or something, so I figure about 35minutes or so of sleep..

we did go out to get Noah but then came home, so he had lots of time to play etc...

put him down at 2:30--about 3.5hrs of A time and he was quiet for 10min, so I was really hopeful, but now its 3 and he is happily chatting away.
today he has been getting down from standing at tables etc well, so at least I know that he can do it in his crib too.

think Ill try 30min at 10:30 tommorow am and then try for a nap AT 2PM.

well he was asleep about 8pm, woke at 3am and then 6:55 am, did down for nap at 10:20, but he fought it a bit and didn't fall asleep til 10:35 or 10:40, Im not sure if he was a bit OT for this nap becuase he didn't fall asleep nicely--he cried.  Im planning on wakeing him at 11:10 and then down for next nap at 2pm?
