limiting his liquid intake after 5pm
That's what I did. He always had a cup of milk right before bed so stopped that. Now he has milk with his meal at 5/530pm and that's the last drink he gets before bed at about 7pm. He goes to the toilet right before bed. We haven't needed to 'lift' him but I know that some people do if you've thought about trying that?
It pays to be consistent though. Amy was dry at night at 27 months and we didn't have ew but when she wet the bed once we took her into our bed. She then wet the bed the following three nights until we doubled up her bed and whipped the wet sheets off and put her straight back in. She never wet the bed again so seemed like she was doing it as knew she'd be allowed to come into our bed!
We have gone through stages over the last couple of years of Ethan waking up in the night and asking to go to the toilet and that started about 20 months old. I don't know what you can do about it though as you can't exactly not take them!
but he has also recently been moved into a toddler bed, so he finds it quite novel to be able to get out of bed.
We only let Ethan out of his cot a few months ago so that's pretty much why I didn't even attempt to night train him before he moved to a BBB. Good luck with that
