930 and 230. Seems the am nap is always longer and the pm one is normally an hour. Although sometimes I have to wake her to keep bedtime at a normal hour.

We are day 11 of set times. Working really well this morning I got a 1 hr 20 min nap. Scruffy, at what length nap did u push the set nap back. I know you said cat naps. Normally this nap is close to 2 hrs. Do I just continue for a few more days?

I'm also wondering if I should move bedtime forward. I set it at 730 but after bath when I go to get her pjs on she starts crying. Not sure if its cuz she just wants her bottle or she is too tired. Thought? I guess typing this now she is going through a thing of not liking getting dressed and undressed so maybe it's that. We aren't getting any ot NW. Had a few NW between 1-2 but there are 3 teeth about to cut and we did dream meds on weekend and those NW didn't happen.

That's a great update! :) no experience with set naps but a 1h20 min nap following a times would be UT.... But like I said not sure of rules with set naps...but if you're not getting OT nws or EW then I would leave things as they are....it could have been a blip so maybe see where u are in a few days?

Good luck!
aishi :)

Hi Charjanmom, I only changed set nap times when the morning nap went down to 40 mins.  I know conventional wisdom is that under 1hr20 is UT but I have found with my LO she can do 1:20 or 1:10 one day, then I have to wake her at 1:30 the next so it seems to be more of a normal blip than an indication that she needs a routine change.  With a 1:20 nap I would just keep the afternoon nap time the same.  That said, I cap the naps at 1:30 so 1:20 isn't a big deal but I guess it's a whole sleep cycle if your LO normally does 2hr.

Crying after bath when getting dressed... yep, I think that's pretty normal.  We've had that for almost a year ;-)

Hi ladies

Things have been running pretty smoothly with out set routine. Amazing naps and still doing 11-12 hr nights.
W 630/7ish
S 930/10-1130 (I float this nap time as other wise if she wakes at 7 she is not ready at 930)
S 245-345/4 (I wake her by 4)
S 730

So last week and this week we have had 1 or 2 ew. Not sure what to make if it. We are going through lots of development. Trying to cruise etc. she wakes at 10/10.5 hr mark babbles then goes back to sleep. Leave things for now? 10 months on Monday and I guess approaching a wonder week in 2 weeks :(

If she goes back to sleep, then I would just leave her and not worry about it.  I know for a while it seemed with my LO that if we heard her before 6am, she'd go back to sleep, but if we heard her after 6am, she was awake for the day :-)  Glad things are going so well!!

Ok we will see what this week brings. We went through a horrid phase of 5am ew months ago and I don't want to make a mess of things again by thinking she is undertired and all that. When we put her down tonight for bed there was some messing around in her crib before she fell asleep so I'm wondering if the pm nap needs to be capped at 1 hr?!

I would give it a few days and see if it's becoming regular - we have some nights when LO seems to play for ages before going to sleep and some when she goes to sleep straight away and I could never really work out any reason why.

Ok I'm thinking something is up with our routine. We have had a month of amazing naps and nights but the last few days we are getting a lot of monkey around before pm nap? Should I push it back and so 3-4 rather than 230/245-4?
We are also getting a few ew parties the past 2 weeks so something must we up. Ugh! I finally felt like I had my sanity back and now this. I see lots of 2-1 talk but I don't know. She seems like a high sleep needs baby to me.
Thanks

10 months old right?  DD was doing naps at 10am and 2:30pm at this point but pm nap would sometimes take a while to fall asleep.  You could always try 2:45 or 3pm if you're having consistent problems.  What time are you putting her down for am nap if she EW?  And how early are we talking?

Am nap is 930/10 depending on wake up. The pattern I'm noticing is she will do 2 nights in a row of 730-630/7 then the third night will be a 5 ish wake up but resettles quickly after a few babbles. Which made me think developmental. She is really good at morning napping and I have to put her down late on Friday mornings due to a class we have. I will push the pm nap back a touch I think

Okay something has to be up with our routine. Second day in a row of 730-530 waking up early babbling for over 30-45 mins. She is whining now and it's 615. I'm thinking that her am nap needs to be pushed back?! But how do I go about this when she really has been up since 530? I guess the am nap has not been set in stone as some days she was sleeping in past 7 and not ready for a 930 nap so I would say our first nap is based off 3 hrs a but no nap before 930. Help!! We had such a rough patch before and I don't want to go back there. She turned 10 months yesterday so maybe this is her way of celebrating! Lol ;)

Anyone?

I am still getting good naps but these ew are no good as my dd isn't herself when this happens.

Do I just jump to a new nap time? Or do it gradual?

I have been having a similar problem and Jessmum recommended that I cap the second nap because she could be getting too much day sleep.
