Ok, don't know what is happening. After she woke this morning, she was showing tired signs after 1.5hrs, I stretched her out until 2.05hrs and she settle within 2-3 mins with dummy, without me in the room, but she woke after 40 mins (dummy got knocked out when she was stretching) she didn't cry so I left her after 10 mins I went up and put dummy in and shh/pat, she fell asleep after 20 mins and slept for another 40 mins.

2nd nap was 2.20hr A time, she started to yawn at 2.10hr mark, so we went up and started to wind down, she fell asleep within 2-3 mins with dummy without me in the room, then at 40 min mark she woke (dummy was still in her mouth) I left her for 10 mins, she wasn't crying. After 10-15 mins I went up and did shh/pat, she settled after 20 mins. She slept for another 40-45mins.

It's like Iam having to pat her to sleep after the 40 mins. This happened yesterday too. Only with the first 2 naps, BT is fine settles well without me in the room, just the dummy and I walk away and she is asleep within 10-15 mins. She has been wake about an hour after BT, but with some patting she is off again.

Do you think she could be ready for just 2 naps per day? Cause the EW is still happening and it's been a month and we have gone from 1.50hr A time to 2-2.20hr A time.

She is only sleeping 1.5-1.40hrs for naps before this 40 min thing.

I just don't know if it's a dummy dependency, or I need to increase A times again??? I seem to be chasing A times every week. Once I get a day or 2 of good naps, then it all changes.

I just keep telling myself that eventually she will have no naps and sleep a whole 12 hrs (probably when she's 4 lol)

I find myself telling the same thing! When DS will be a teenager I will beg him to wake up in the morning :D.

I just don't know if it's a dummy dependency, or I need to increase A times again??? I seem to be chasing A times every week. Once I get a day or 2 of good naps, then it all changes.
I was going to say paci, it comes out and it wakes her up... but if you like you can post your EASY from yesterday or today (I would like to see the whole day, with the afternoon nap as well and the whole night) and I can have a look if it looks like another A increase. Please also mention her exact age right now.
It's common to chase A times, until they are on one nap the A time constantly changing. But if you feel like it's happening a lot then perhaps it's a regression and you just need to wait it out. It's important that when you increase the A you stick to it for several days (some babies need a week of the new A) before one can decide if another increase is in order.

Don't give up, you already achieved a lot - she is falling asleep independently which is a huge thing!

Ok so here is the EASY from yesterday

EW: 5.30am (rocked back to sleep, with dummy and then in my bed)
WU: 7am
E: 7.15am (soilds hr after)
A: 2.10hr
S: 9.10-9.50am (dummy fell out, had to extended nap) 10.15-10.50am

E: 11am (soilds hr after)
A: 2.20hrs
S: 1.20pm- 2.00pm (dummy still in, had to extend nap) 2.20pm-2.55pm

E: 3pm
A: 2.10hrs
S: 5pm-5.40pm

E: 6.30pm
BT:7.20pm (asleep by 7.30pm)

NW: 2am (feed and dummy in and back asleep within 1/2 hr)
Woke this morning at 5.50am (I put dummy in and got another 15 mins and she woke at 6.10-6.15am)

I was thinking dummy, cause after an hour of her being asleep at BT I took the dummy out, she didn't cry, but about 15 mins later woke up crying, so I put the dummy back in and she was asleep within seconds.

sorry she has just turned 5 months this week. She seems to only do 10.5-11hrs overnight. Always goes to bed between 7-7.30pm.

It's hard for me to say if it sounds OT or UT, I'll tell you why. Usually 30-35min naps are OT and 45min-1:20h naps are UT. 40min naps would be either or, depends on the baby.
One scenario can be that she is UT and when she enters a lighter sleep, towards the end of her sleep cycle she wakes up as in an OT nap because she feels the paci is out.
Another scenario is that she is OT and she wakes up after 30min because of that.
It's confusing, I know. The paci makes it a bit tricky.
Another indication if a nap is OT or UT except for the length of it is how does that baby wake up from it - chatty and happy or crabby?
I don't think it's time to drop the CN like you mentioned in your previous post. Yes, she is on her way there, but her A times should be higher than they are now to manage a day with only 2 naps, around 3h A time. And she is far from that... You can read about it more here: All about the 3-2 transition- 5/6 months

I don't know why, but I have the feeling that it's UT, but I am far away, I don't see her, it's just a hunch. What do you think?

yeah, Iam confussed too lol!!!

She gets so fussy after the 2.15 and is asleep within a minute or two. This morning, I have gone for the 2.15hr A time and we are also weaning the swaddle as she is rolling in her sleep (the past 2 days). Iam not sure, I put her to bed this morning with 1 arm out with a lovely and her dummy and she went to sleep without a problem but is now awake after 30 mins, not crying. I am leaving her, but will go in after 10-15 mins and pat her back to sleep.
Last night I woke up at 4.50am and she was on her tummy, I feed her and patted until calm and she went back to sleep after 30 mins and woke at 6.15am.

No idea what is going on??? I will try for 2.5hr A time, for the next couple of days.

Ok, I think it is def the dummy. It falls out, she knocks it out and she wakes. I don't mind that she has the dummy, cause she settles so well, but it is affecting her sleeps. As soon as I put in back in she falls asleep.

Iam not sure what to do as, I am on my own alot and Iam the one constantly doing the settling. Before when I tried shh/pat and PU/PD she was so upset and then I was in tears for most of the day and night, plus getting upset and depressed.

Should I just keep the dummy and replug all the time until she can put it back in herself or should I attempt no dummy, she has always had a need to suck.

This is beyond me, sweety, I am not there to do the work, yk? You need to weigh the two options and decide with which one you can do better.

I am not sure what to do???

Last night she went to bed between 7-7.30pm asleep by 7.20pm, then she was waking on the hour up until 11pm, sometimes dummy was out, other times in was in, it was a scream cry. I picked her up a couple of times and one time she burped. I tried to shh/pat after the first waking and she settled without the dummy, but the other times she was too upset and was even crying in my arms, so she settled with the dummy.

She woke at 4.50am, not crying, I left for 10-15mins, then went in and checked nappy, when changing she just started screaming, so I fed her she took 100mls then dummy back in and she was asleep after 15mins and slept till 7.15am????

This morning has gone good, I did 2.15A for the first nap and got 1.25hr nap (I think she has a 40 min cycle, cause when she was little and didn't take a dummy, she would always wake on 40 mins). The dummy stayed in the whole time. She woke up happy and has lasted 2.5hrs A time for her second nap, which she is asleep for now.

She is having about 3.20 hrs during the day is that enough for her age??? With 10-11hrs overnight.

The amount of day sleep she has is ok, not great, but ok. You are aiming for 2x1.5-2h naps and 1 CN of 45min, so you are not far from that. But her night should rather be 11h and not 10h, unless she is very low on sleep needs.
I don't think we should conclude anything about last night from just one night, maybe she was hungrier than usualy or was in some sort of discomfort.
It sounds like you are having a good day sleep wise so maybe it will be a good effect on night sleep as well.

Ok, so I have been doing the naps and BT without the dummy for the past 2 days (not bad, about 10 mins max of settling). Sometimes, I get a good nap other times she still wakes up at the 40 min mark and I have to extend.

so far Today has gone like this:

EW:4.50am (tried shh/pat, but she is sooo wiggly, used the dummy to relax her down and then took it out) asleep at 5.40am
WU: 6am (left in cot till 6.30)
E: 6.30am (150mls)
A: 2.5hrs
S: 8.30-10.10am

E: 10.30 (150mls) soilds hr after.
A: 2.20hrs
S: 12.30-1.10 (woke left for 5 mins, no crying, just rubbing her lovely on her face) went up and shh/pat, did not work, relaxed her with the dummy and then took it out before she fell asleep) 1.30-1.40 (tried to extend again but couldn't got up at 2pm

E: 2.30pm
A: This is where is has gone crazy. I kept in mind that she only had a 50min nap before, so she started to show tired signs at 3.20, so we did the wind down same as before, started shh/pat and she was upset, did PU/PD a couple of times, it made things worse. I had to calm her with the dummy and took it out before she went to sleep.
S: 3.50pm-still asleep and it's 4.30pm.

Do you think this was OT??? She seemed fine at 3pm (playing, smiling)

Yesterday was good, I got a morning nap of 1.5hrs second nap of 1.40hrs and a CN of an 1hr (I woke her). Then BT was about 15mins of settling, but no hard crying at any sleep time.

She still has 1 arm out (don't think she is ready for 2 arms) she is a back sleeper, I've tried to put her on her side, but she fights it, and when on her tummy she thinks it's play time and smiles. I feel so bad, her little arm waves around and she hasn't mastered sucking her thumb or fingers, sometimes she sucks the lovely, but get's upset and throws it away???

Plus Iam still getting the 5am EW. Iam going to try the DF for a week I think.
