Well it if I was you I would give the eggs a go but try not to worrying too much about things. You are doing a fab job at going dairy and soy free and have seen a great response from your little lad from it!

If you had said he had eczema, mucusy nappies, constant colds etc I would have said there was something else going on but the vomiting needn't be a reaction YK. It could be a bit of reflux or just that he is prone to being sicky. Olly was always small but he is shooting up the percentiles now and I do think that solids will help put some weight on him  ;)

You have to weigh up the symptoms and I think STTN at all at 4 months is fab for a BF baby IMHO!!

yUP!

Also honey T spills a ton on the neocate. It's pretty thin so I would expect C to still spill on it. The spilling itself is more structural. The pain and excessive vomiting is more of a concern.

Wrt the weight gain. Maybe he isn't feeding enough or feeding too frequently? Neocate is absorbed, it is easy for LOs to get enough with little volume (or less) breast milk is different. Does he have a big feed in the evening? Do you do a DF? X

Currently he is having 4 breast feeds per day and one bottle (7oz) neocate at BT. Sometimes 5 breast feeds and sometimes one during the night too.

No eczema (although very dry skin) and the mucousy poos stopped when I cut the dairy and soy :)

I'm trying not to worry. I spoke to DP and he said I'm being silly. He thinks Corey is fine and he is happy for me to bf with the occasional bottle like we are doing now.

Some nights he wakes once, sometimes twice and last night he slept for 12 hours ;D

He was 75th centile when born and now he is between 25th and 50th so it isn't too dramatic and I suppose I should just keep an eye on it. I have him weighed every week at my bf support group anyway.

I'm staying off the eggs for now anyway so we will see. I'm really enjoying bf and Im glad you ladies are here - I really don't think I would manage without you lot :)

Sounds like he isn't doing too badly at all. Hugs and well done mama. Your LO is lucky to have a mama who is willing to go all out of him :)

*hugs* Sounds like he's doing great.  It's totally normal for BF babies to have peaks and troughs in terms of weight gain.  Most pragmatic HCPs won't be worried if he's sticking to a curve, even if it wasn't the one he was on when first born.

Yeah I do too. I think I stress out when we have a bad day! This week he's been teething and I can see a white nub under the gum so I'm sure it will pop through soon.

Another bf question - what happens when they get teeth? I'm worried about getting bitten? My SIL asked me if I was stopping bf because he is getting a tooth, WTF? It just made me wonder whether bf will be different?

Honestly, I was "bitten" worse when they only had gums than when they had teeth too. I can remember it happening once with teeth that it hurt enough to be memorable and I shouted in surprise/pain and it never happened again.

I found it more uncomfortable in the phase where they were trying to get through and DD was adjusting her latch to compensate for feeling uncomfortable.  It did take a little time after they came through for her to sort it out so they weren't rubbing, but there are strategies for dealing with biting if it occurs (pulling them closer to the breast so they have to open their mouth to breathe/unlatching them, gently saying 'no biting' and putting them down for a minute or so)
