Ref the chairs I do use them when I feed them at the same time so mid afternoon and bedtime is that still going to be ok?
Yes, for sure.  Just as long as they're not going to sleep in them, that's the only thing I wouldn't use them for.

If the nap in the cot just doesn't happen so say I've tried for 45 mins do I try again 2 hours later? Not sure about this bit as ill need to watch over the other one ad my mum will only stay for the initial nap time?
I would try again in 1hr or so.  So, get them up (or just the one if the other is sleeping) and have a bit of low key A time and feed him a little more if needed.  Things could get a bit off for a few days with both of them, but it should come right pretty quick once they're going down on their own for naps.

Also if the nap lasts 45 mins or so but no longer do I just allow a longer catnap to make up?
Yeah, bring it earlier and let it go a little longer, but not so long as to cause issues with BT.

Good news is S has just gone to sleep in 15 mins and I'm almost by the door at last Yey !
Great!  Well done S and you!! ;D

Thanks girls well project nap hasn't happened today as I'm coming down with a cold I think and as my mum has reduced immunity I couldn't risk her catching it so the bouncey chairs get another go. I did do a later nap though starting at 11.30am but only got 1 hour from Z and 45 mins from S.

I'm hoping I'm better tomorrow and we can start as planned.

Thanks Katie I just hope the twins don't get it! If they do should I wait on the naps?

Hugs, I hope you feel better soon. It's usually best not to change routine too much when LOs are poorly as they can be out of sync enough anyway. I hope they don't catch it xx

Agreed.  Probably best to wait if they end up getting it.

Hi Jo, I hope you're ok. Did the boys get the cold? If not, how're you getting on?

Hi there, well the boys are under the weather, a bit grumpy but mostly ok so far. Only I've not got anyone to help with naps now as my mum is on holiday until next Thursday. So I've been pushing out the morning nap time still in their chairs and have made it to 11.20 now. They still cry and S protests a bit but not as bad as before.   I also give them a snack before nap time too.   The am nap is still only an hour so I'm trying for an afternoon nap at 3.15 ish for half an hour to 45 mins

The good news is S had slept until almost 7am two days in a row now, hopefully I haven't just jinxed that!  His night waking is better too only once it twice and he resettles himself. This is the best sleep he had ever had :). Of course I wake up constantly now to check they are both ok!

I've introduced the new nap music too so I'm going to try and start at the end if next week I can get mum to help and I can get the naps sorted at last.

Considering they've not been brilliantly well this is fantastic progress. Well done you! :)
Here to hold your hand when you're ready to try for the cot again x
