I will try to do set naps for him, it just seems that unless he has 2 hour nap we will always have two naps.

I felt like this with E. She didn't sleep one nap longer than 1hr 20 until she firmly fixed onto one nap per day. Like Katherine, sleep at this age was hard because of her starting at nursery, 2-1 transition, and with teething on top it made this a really hard time for us. We pushed through to set lunchtime nap (well 11.30 initially) and once she had settled onto that nap at the same time the nap did start to lengthen. For us it was definitely move to one nap first (dealing with the OT as we went with occasional EBT), rather than waiting for the nap to be longer and then moving to one nap.

Have you tried EBT?

Yes we do ocassionally do EBT, its usually the days when im at home with him and we do t have to drive anywhere.one bap just doesnt work put at the childminders as he falls asleep in the car on way back from toddler group and if he did do 1 nap he would fall asleep on the way home at 5pm, amd that would be pretty terrible. So today i tried the short first nap and long pm nap, I cant say it was successfull but it wasnt a fiasco.

7.23
10.32-11.02.  3.10A 30 min nap
2.47nap-3.07/resettled and still asleep.

He settled ok for first nap a bit of fussing, but second nap there was screaming, like he is t ready to sleep, and usually whith the screaming we have a wakibg after 20 min and this is exactly what hapened. Im sure he will be up shortly, although no clue when to do BT now.

So I got him to bed at 8.40 and we avoided the 40 minute wake up :)! But was up 2 hoirs later, and as we have a busy day tomorrow, he is asleep with me now. Hopefully not up every 2 hours....

Was out at 6pm, a little OT already, as only had 50 minute nap. It has been nice to have the evening to ourselves, im sure I will be out by 9.....zzzz
I know he will sleep one day, all night, every night, and I will miss these night where he stands in his cot and shouts mama and gets rather upset when dada comes....but gosh we do need some sleep periodically.

It is true that is the long -term view of it. I personally find it very hard to remember that when I'm sleep deprived. I hope you had a reasonable night, you're on the right road mama :)

I struggle too, and some days i get annoyed with myself that im clearly doing something wrong, other days i just want to sleep and dont care whose fault it is. I know he needs to be on one nap but we arent there yet and the transition isnt easy.

Night went ok he woke 3 times which isnt all that bad, so today has been

7.25 wu
12.15nap-1.05/

Im trying to slowly extend his A time so we went with 4.50A, he settled no problem (although ob the bed with me, i was hoping to have a nap too), but woke after 35 min, it wasnt easy to resettle him. Is this OT?

I cant imagine it is, he slept from 6pm yesterday until 7.25am, this is very unusual for him.....ill stick with this A time for a couple of days and see where we get to

It might not be OT, it could just be adjusting to he new time. Do as you've suggested and stick at this new time for a couple more days then we can reassess. :)

No perspective at all today, i was up until 3am, one of those days where i just want to crawl into bed and sleep this was today and i have no idea what happened in the night.

8.15wu
1.05nap-3.05     4.50A
8.09BT.               5.05A

He was up 45 min afyer BT and then pretty much every 2 hours and sometimes in between.
It did take longer for him to fall asleep ar BT im not sure if its OT or too early? Cant be UT surely? But the awakening after 40 mins means UT?
