I think that anything you have done is amazing, Liz, and you should be really proud of every drop that he gets. There are plenty of babies who never get any bm at all and they do just fine.

Full of admiration for you too, as pps have said, what you are doing is amazing, every drop counts so he is a lucky boy to have such a wonderful mummy.

Liz, you are doing fantastically!  Are you taking fenugreek?  I found it made a huge difference to my supply when pumping - I had to take a lot of it (I stank of curry/maple syrup  :-X), but it was worth it.

Ugh. Do the spare shield came for my swing and I can hardly get anything now  :-\. Output is at least half of that with hospital grade  :'(. TBH the swing feels like a tickle and barely gives me a let down!!

I had issues with Megan like this, but found it great with DS.

I could hire, but  ??? ???. Can't decide if that is realistic longer term or not. I was looking forward to the portability of the swing eg pump and do toast for kids  ;), but sitting and expressing 8 times a day on top of having 3 kids  :-\. Not sure.

That does sound tough. How do you feel about trying it for a few days and then seeing how you feel?

Hugs Liz.  It almost killed me pumping for all feeds  :-\...I would say hiring a hospital grade pump is a necessity if you are going to continue pumping - at least until he is able to feed directly from you for some feeds to increase your production.  And definitely get the fenugreek!

But at this point you also need to weigh up all the needs of the family hun - you have done so well getting this far  :-*

You're doing great. Some BF groups have hospital grade pumps that they'll loan for a period of time (the one my friend runs does - they just ask you to pay for the collection sets), so it might be worth asking around about that, maybe?

I'm really glad you're getting cuddles now.  CPAP just looks so sad, apart from anything else :(

There are different BF support volunteers in different areas aren't there? I am sure they have hospital grade pumps they can lend out, mine did and they delivered it really quickly and basically said I could keep it as long as needed too.  Maybe contact Little Angels and see if they are in your area or what groups is?
