Leo has chest infection and I'm now suspecting Lewis has one also. Had them both at doctor's on Monday night and Lewis seemed OK not even a sniffel now he's choked. I'm wondering that's why his sleep has been affected maybe not a routine change after all.

Oh I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope it's not too bad and they are over this very quickly. You're right, it's probably the illness and not routine which has disturbed their sleep.
lots of hugs and you take care of these little people xx

Oh dear that was a typo of mine!!! it was supposed to read "lots of hugs AS you take care of those little people"
Wow you must think me a witch saying AND take care of those little people!! Woah!!
I'm so sorry - my typing is too fast and too inaccurate - I didn't mean to sound so rude and patronising telling you to look after your kids!!

hi, things have been great for ages until we missed two naps in the easter holidays. lewis for the past few days i feel like he's refusing nap time really breaking his heart (today being the  worst)but is waking up within an hr or two of b/time.  leo has joined in today too refusing nap time but fell asleep 15 mins later than normal.

it hit me earlier maybe 18 month old sleep regression but they have missed two naps in one wk and not really used to it so it could just be that.

normal routine

wu 7
nap 1-3
b/time 8

maybe i should bring b/time forward little to help?

It's lovely to hear things have been going well up to now :)

Oh yes it could be the 18 month regression.  Most people suggest sticking to your usual routine throughout it and just hang in there knowing it is a phase. I tried to do that but in the end even after it passed he still needed a new routine.  How about trying nap at 1.15 or 1.30 and still waking at 3pm?  Hold BT at 8pm?  If nap is totally refused then I'd move on to the BT routine pretty early, even 5pm, I know it sounds super early but it can help to hold off OT if a nap is totally missed.

Things have settled down again, I'm guessing they were OT with missing so many naps but as u said EB has made an improvement. Lewis still not happy about going to sleep at nap time but I spotted a new tooth yesterday so I don't think that's helped.

I'm just going to persevere with things just now and hold onto these precious two hours as long as possible!

Oh yes don't blame you for hanging on to the 2 hour nap!  Hopefully you have another year of it yet :)

I made that mistake with Ayden when we came back from turkey, he just refused to nap ( he was 2 at the time) major OT ended b/t was 5:30 every night.
