Teething 14 mo old nursing to sleep
« on: August 07, 2016, 18:00:12 pm »
Hello!

I was wondering if anyone has experienced a teething baby over a year old who all of a sudden wants to nurse to sleep?

My 14 month old DS is teething molars and has been for a couple of weeks. He's uncomfortable where he holds his mouth, appetite is up and down, and wants to nurse much more often. Before this, we were gradually weaning. He didn't fall asleep BFing before so I'm concerned it will be a lot of work to wean him off nursing to sleep. He doesn't do it every time bc I don't want it to be habit but regardless it's a lot. Did anyone experience this? What happened afterwards?

It has happened here yes. Things normally go back to normal when the teething pain is over though.

Ok that's definitely reassuring! I'm just going by his cues bc it's clear nursing comforts him so I don't mind doing it. I was just wondering if I'm in for it when he finally cuts the teeth.
