51/2 week baby bottle fed: advice for cluster feeding
« on: May 10, 2017, 21:31:16 pm »
Hi
Please can you advise on cluster feeding using bott. My 51/2 week old baby currently takes around 120ml every 3 hours. 7,10,1,4,630,1230,430
I am not sure when to cluster feed him & how much to offer. Generally he takes whatever is offered & doesn't seem to know when he has had enough.
Thanks in advance for your help.

To be honest I never cluster fed either of my kids who were both bottle fed.  I think the suggestion is to cluster feed in the evenings, I can't remember exactly what the suggestion was but I think it was something like 5pm/7pm and then a DF at 10pm.  I just fed mine every 3hrs as needed, I just figured if I fed them more frequently they would just eat less and to me that is almost counter productive lol.  The general rule with bottle feeding is that if they are draining the bottle, then add another ounce.  There should always be a little bit left in the bottle so you know they are full.

I think your feeding schedule looks fantastic, I wouldn't change a thing!
