10 wk old waking for a feeding
« on: November 20, 2005, 03:55:16 am »
I have a 10 wk old and we're just trying this new program. We need some advise about night wakings. Our son is on a 4 hour feed schedule and we would feed him during the night when he started crying. Now with this new program, if he wakes during the evening do we feed him if he cries or try the shh/pat method or even a pacifier?

At 10 weeks old I would expect your lo to feed at least once but probably more likely 2-3 times between 7pm & 7am. It is quiet young to move a baby to 4 hourly feeds in the daytime, so I would suggest dropping back to 3.5 hourly.  You would expect to give 6 bottle feeds or 6-8 breast feeds to a 10 week old baby.
