Bottled water for traveling???/

Was reading about boiled water,which am doing.
Just wondering if anyone Know's if you can use bottled water when traveling for formula to be put with???

Hi Andrea,
yes you can use bottled water for making formula. Try to find one with a very low sodium content. Apparently Evian is the most recommended and have also heard Aqua Panna mentioned ( Italian brand). I used Evian when dd was 6 months old and then normal bottled water while traveling when I couldn't get Evian. She was fine.

you put the water in a flask to keep it warm. then you mix the formula fresh each time. it's better if you actually buy a flas that i just for your baby... we do that every day day :)

We use distilled water for DD's bottles.  Checked with the ped and he okay'd it, but said to avoid the "nursery" water products (the ones that have flouride added) until DD is at least 6MO.

I thought you can't mix formula with cold water ??? A flask keeps it warm for quite a while...

I have never boiled water for Cait, and from the day I brought her home, we have used bottled water from Ozarka.  In fact, both my children are Ozarka bottled water babies.  Just get a gallon and off you go.  Plus you dont' have to worry about "premixing" and keeping it cold.  The water is always room temperature in the house, so just mix, shake and feed.  Never had a problem.  HTH  :)

My Health Visitor said that I should only use Evian when I am travelling with William - when I can't take my own tap water or if we are going for longer than a few days. Its something to do with the salts and minerals being higher. She even said that they are supposed to recommend that no bottled water is used but Evian is about the best.I use it when I go to my moms to visit as their tap water makes William sick as it is quite a lot harder than ours at home. He notices no change with Evian - which I boil as normal in the kettle.

If its just a day trip and I dont make the bottles up the nmight before and use the cool bag - I do take a flask of hot water - as formula certainly makes up better when the water is warm - especially the Omneo Comfort I use. Some moms take bottles half filled with cold then top up from the flask so the water is just warm enough..

we were advised to use "evian "also . CALUMS MUM don't think we have ozarka bottled water ! i have never made a feed up with cold water but i would imagine it would be very lumpy , you need warm water for the formula to mix  ???

If we can't get tap water (like when they repair stuff) we use MILUPA baby water... It's good stuff...

Ozarka is a brand name of Natural spring water in the states.  ;)
