how long should 6.5 month old have activity now?
« on: May 22, 2006, 09:38:05 am »
my dd is 6.5 months and she normally wakes between 7-8am and sleeps between 7-8pm.  at the moment routine is

7am awake change nappy, feed.
sing nursery rhymes, play with books, have a look at mirrors in bathroom (we say upstairs for 1st wake up) somtimes bathe her
8.30-9-00 snooze sometimes 45 mins or upto 1.5 hours if i'm lucky

change clothes, top/tail, go dowstairs onto her play gym.
11ish feed

she still almost struggles to be active and awake by 2hours,

Taylor struggles to be awake for two hours for morning A time but can go much longer in the afternoon. How many naps is she getting a day ? I found the best way to extend A time in the afternoon is to go visiting people or go to a playgroup where she can interact with people or babies, then when we've extended it long enough she goes down and naps.

My lo is almost 6.5 mos, and he seems to have no trouble staying up for almost 3 hrs, even in the morning!  This is sudden, though.  I think 2 hrs in the morning is okay, but try to build as the day goes on.  We have found it impossible to keep the late afternoon catnap, so we are down to two naps.  I count A time from the time he wakes until the time I lay him in his crib, awake.
