Natasha, Nello is the same.
It blows my mind as I never started him on commercial baby rice, we went straight to pureed pears and he has always loved them. Then he was an older baby and would eat anything of course, but there were age/diet restrictions. Now as a toddler, he loves food, but fruit is our battle. He will eat it in his yogurt and muesli in the morning though, so that is good! He won't do pureed fruit, but will let me add applesauce to some of his foods, like cottage cheese. I also add apple or pear slices to his grilled cheese sandwiches. I make stewed apricots and keep in fridge and use as a spread on toast or bread, crackers etc... He loves fruit leather and raisins or sultanas. He will eat dried pineapple rings as a snack.
I can't believe I waited until he was a year to try berries and then he hated them! I tried again recently after our teething battle, still no go. I mean, strawberries, they are so delicious! I have popped fresh pineapple and tangerines in his mouth and he will eat them, (not grapes though, spits them out!

) but will not pick them up and put them in his own mouth. Very weird.
Oh well, I remind myself, he ate curried coconut chicken and rice for dinner tonight with us, so fruit as worry is not too bad! My friend who has 3 older ones, says to keep offering though, as they do come around. Her DD tells her Mum her favourite food is Kiwi! (she is 4 now and never took fruit as a toddler)
I also remind myself that avocado and tomatoes are fruits, so there we go, he eats them like no tomorrow!

It is just frustrating though, as fruit is a fast and healthy snack to offer.
Whoever said about smoothies, thank you for reminding me of this. Will try tomorrow. Will make it with almond milk, (so good, has anyone tried it? I am hooked on it!) flax oil, yoghurt and whatever fruit that is in the house.
Aisling x
Ps. You know, I just re-read my post and I realise, he is getting plenty of fruit!

Typical Mummy stressing out and over analysing I suppose! I think I am like you Natasha, I just want him to sit down to a nice snack of grapes, apples or melon pieces or even a banana for goodness sake! HTH!
I think Stacy is right, we should be thankful!
