It's time I updated with our faves! My favourite kids book that I have to read loads at the moment is "Mr Pusskins, A Love Story" about a spilt, grouchy persian cat and his adoring owner Emily:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Mr-Pusskins-Sam-Lloyd/dp/1846163471/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1258136097&sr=8-2

I don't think anyone has mentioned the Charlie and Lola books by Lauren Childs, great for imagination:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Will-Ever-Never-Tomato-Charlie/dp/1846168864/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1258137134&sr=1-1

Leorah loves Jill Murpy's books about The Large Family, which are a big, noisy family of elephants, really funny for mums as Mrs Large can never get 5 mins to herself!

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Mr-Large-Charge-Family/dp/140632096X/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1258137253&sr=1-7

We are enjoying the book and CD of Aliens Love Underpants:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Aliens-Love-Underpants-Claire-Freedman/dp/1416917055/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1258137508&sr=8-1

and Giraffes Can't Dance

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Giraffes-Cant-Dance-Orchard-Picturebooks/dp/1841215651/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1258137588&sr=1-1

We a reading a lot of Mr Men and Little Miss books, the faves being Miss Splendid, Miss Somersault and Mr Rude!

And lastly we have just recently discovered the Winnie the Witch books by Valerie Thomas, Leorah is now obsessed with all things magic!

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Winnie-Witch-Three-Story-Treasury/dp/0192727273/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1258137334&sr=1-8

Anyone else have any updates, Xmas is coming and Leorah will no doubt be given money which we always use for books  :)

One that we have bought recently for DS (age 15 months) is a photo book called DOG

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Dog-Matthew-Van-Fleet/dp/184738143X/ref=wl_it_dp_o?ie=UTF8&coliid=I145UC9HL72SKB&colid=SYNWA1OKUOTJ

We don't have a dog, he's just at that stage of loving animals and this book is one that he won't put down. Can't be in a room with it and not look at it, it's been a huge hit!  It is mostly a photo book with pictures of all different dogs doing different things (eating, taking baths, tearing newspapers, etc) and has some pull tabs to make them wag their tails and so on. Also has tactile bits, such as one dog with a sticky tongue, some fuzzy tails or floppy ears and so on. It is quite a thick heavy hardback but it's a super book!!!

Mashi we have a dog and Leorah also thinks she's dog so doggy books are very popular here, ones we like are all the Hairy Maclary books, Doggies - a dog and counting book (our dog joins in with this one!), Shaggy Dog and the terrible itch and she still likes That's Not My Puppy because DH stuck a pic of our dog on the last page!

Katt, I bet she would love the book I posted above then!   I know books are expensive in DKK, moreso than they are here, so it would be a pricey one. It cost me 14 Euros because we get the cover price translated into Euros plus VAT so although 14 Euros isn't a lot for a "present" it is a lot for one book!  It's been such a hit here that DH said out of all of our books it is one he would buy again asap if something happened to it!

My dd is almost three, and her favourites are:
anything Dr.Seuss
My Cat Copies Me - Yoon Duck Kwon
Hiding - Tudor Humphries
How Sleep Found Tabitha - Maggie DeVries
anything Caillou

there are many more; I think we have another reader in the family!

I remembered another great series called "how do dinosaurs..." clean their rooms/say goodnight/eat their food etc, so sweet and funny, we still borrow them from the library now as a last quick story at bedtime  :)

Both of my kids have ADORED "Please Baby Please" by Spike and Tonya Lee. The illustrations are absolutely charming, it is about a really spirited little toddler behaving in quite challenging ways. Funny and sweet.
