. Clever little girls she is! And it IS sweet isn't it? Hugh doesn't hold my hand, but he climbs up to lay his head on my chest quite often when going to sleep or resettling.

At Zara's age, we were sitting with her while she fell asleep, for an average of an hour per night. As she got older, and her comprehension increased, we would just "go to the toilet" or "clean up the kitchen" and come back and "check" on her every minute or so...and eventually the checking got further apart etc. I think she was about 15 months or so when we started that, but it may have been a little older...depends how much of a hurry you are in, you could always slowly progress to that.
