hmmmm I'm not the best with with spirited ones.  Sherry's Lyle is spirited and Stacy's Kaleb.  I will still try to help but feel free to ignore me anytime you feel the advice I'm giving is not appropriate for your lo.

Anyway, I might be wrong but maybe push the 1st nap later by 15mins again?

Lucy, sorry you're still having EW's with Daisy.  We're having CRAPPY naps on this end, too.  So frustrated!!!

God im getting fed up with this. She woke at 4.20 this morning!! She is wide awake and is having a fit cos she wants to get up and i CANNOT start my day at this time!! i fought with her for an hour doing WIWO and she eventually gave up and went backto sleep at 5.20-5.50!! i fed her at this point and she tried to doze off again while i was feeding her!

i know this is a crazy idea and tell me to shut up but do you think i should just go cold turkey to one nap and try that? im desperate this is getting a joke!! She has had 30 min sleep this morning and she is so happy and full of beans--this girl does not do sleep!!! i would even be happy with a 6am wake up at this point cos we are getting earlier! :'( :'(

im knackered!

I'm sorry hun.  I know it's so so hard right now.  But it's a phase and it will pass soon  :-* :-*

I was thinking nap 10.30- 11.15 (45mins)

I also think you should not let her sleep AT ALL before nap time.  That is the only way (I can think of) to re-set her body clock.

I am a bit wary of going cold turkey to one nap.  But maybe pushing the 1st nap backwards by 15mins every 5 days or so will get us there soon but gradually.

The textbook streak in her gives me hope that this advice could work, but keep in mind that spirited babies don't do too well with consistency.  So it could go either way.

Are you getting out of the house at all??  You do need to give yourself a break sometimes as well.  The sleep training you have been doing won't go out of the window just because you go out and relax every now and again.

i hardly ever get out cos im so wrapped up with these sleeps!! its driving me mad! i know i should but im determined i have to get this sorted and if i go out i get 2 short naps without fail-tho even that she just takes in her stride and just gets on with it!
i have to have her awake by 11am cos i have to leave to pick my ds up from pre school at that time. How shall i work that? 10.30-11.00? and still a 2.30pm nap?
il do whatever you think, whether it mess with the naps or go slowly to 1 nap-you know best!

Ok try 10.30-11.00 then.  And another nap at 2.30.  How is she reacting to this regime?  Does she fight the naps?  Or goes to sleep ok but not for long?

But please do try to get out.  It will do you a world of good.  And since she still takes it in her stride I would be even more inclined to go.  I am like you...I want to get things sorted before I relax.  But this is an ongoing process.  You will never be finished with it because as soon as you sort out one thing, you get another hurdle.  So if you take that approach you will not relax for quite some time.  Try it at least and if you don't feel better don't do it again.  But it's so important for your health as well.  Promise you'll try?

She has taken to this fine. She goes to sleep easily but im finding her Am nap is only 30-40 mins-tho prob OT by then cos of such EW.but the pm nap is longer and again she goes down easy.

I also don't get out in the day because I am so worried about naps. When I do, I always remember how good it is, and tell myself I will do it again the next day....and never do.  Even try for every second day, it WILL do you some good!

So you think that the late am nap is making her OT?  How long is her pm nap?

I am sorry about your ppd.  Then you should make a bigger effort to go out.  At least once a week you know.

her pm nap is about 1hr15. if she wakes at say 5.30 she manages till 10.15 easy and i have to wake her from the am nap but as the ew are getting earlier(4.30/5am) she is waking at the 30/40min mark into the am nap.i was just wondering if this was because she was OT.she is still just as happy during her next A time so im only guessing!

Oh Lucy!! I'm sorry these EWs are still happening!! Of couse you cannot start your day at 4.30am!!  >:(

If this doesn't work for the next days, I would definitely try moving to one nap! That's what I was going to suggest from the beginning!! Give Charm's suggestions a try and then if it doesn't work, we can work out how to move to one nap without making Daisy OT!
She is an energizer bunny, remember? So it wouldn't amaze me that she is ready for 1 nap at 10 mo!!

(((HUGS))) You are not alone!! Hang in there, hun!

I just want to add that I agree with Sherry about that pm nap being a bit too late.  This could also be contributing with the EWs.  That nap is ending close to 4 pm, and a bedtime at 7 pm, too short A time before bed can also cause EW. I think I would move the pm nap a bit earlier.

i would love 1 nap! it would stop me obsessing over naptimes and bedtime.i do remember my ds sleeping so much better once he was on 1 nap and he was 11 months.Daisy is 10.5mnths maybe she is heading that way too!
we are coming up to 6 months of ew im sick of it!!
you are right about her being an energiser bunny she just doesnt do sleep! im secretly hoping that i hve to just jump to one nap and stop all this messing about!! ggrrr!!!

If moving to one nap is our goal, then I would reduce the am nap even more and bring it forward so you have a pm nap around 1 pm.  Let's see what Charm says...I don't want to give any contradictory advice! :-\
