YAY for the 6am wake up!!!

I think maybe with the later wake up she might need both naps to be pushed back?

I think you did the right thing to rock her back to sleep.  And 1.30 isn't that bad.  Do you think maybe another little catnap could help her get to bedtime just for today?

well she did 1.30-a 6pm bedtime yesterday so she could manage that again i think tho she was a bit OT.im going out now and will be coming back at 4 ish so she may have 10 mins in the car on the way back.

if she wakes at 6 tomorrow what should i do? 9.30-9.50-still the 20 mins? what about next one?

Ok let her do what she wants.  if she's tired she'll have a little 10mins in the car, if not keep her quiet until bedtime (if possible)

As for tomorrow I would follow Alexa's suggestions;

Quote (selected)
Ok, so if she slept 12 hrs, then I would have tried the am catnap a bit later (may from from 9.30-10 am), so the pm nap could be a bit later too (12.30 pm perhaps)

Ok, so take a deep breath, hun!! Don't stress because of this!! You are doing everything you can to make Daisy sleep, hun! All we can do is give her the right conditions for good sleep at the right times, but the rest is up to her! So if she decides to have a 30 min nap when you have given her the right conditions, then there's nothing else you can do, ok? So, don't feel stressed out, just take a deep breath and try to tell to yourself that you are doing EVERYTHING (more than everything) to help her sleep, but that's it, you cant' do more!! There are some things we cannot control, and this is one of them, so keeep that in mind! You are doing a fab job! Believe me, you have been soo patient!!

Remember this is about trial and error, so we will have to experiment with Daisy and see what works better, ok?

I totally agree about not being able to have a decent bedtime on a 1 hr pm nap.  We need to make that nap longer!

How was Daisy when she woke up after 50 min? Happy? Crying?
I don't think she was tired at 9 am, and that's why she fought that nap.  I would have moved it a bit later.  May be 9.30/9.45 am. What do you think?

Ok, I agree with Charmie about needing a longer am nap with a later wake up, so I'm thinking that may be we should stretch that am nap to 30 min, then 2.5 hrs A time, and then the pm nap. We will have to play with this A until we get a decent pm nap.  So if 2.5 hrs keeps giving you a 50 min nap, we will have to stretch it a bit or reduce it depending on Daisy's mood. Do you think she is fighting the 12 pm nap b/c she is not tired or b/c she is too tired?

at 50 mins she woke crying but then after 30 mins more sleep she woke chatting.
im not sure bout the 12pm nap but Daisy just seems to be able to stay awake longer than what i always think so she gets UT naps more than OT.im not sure how a 2.5A will go after a 30 min nap.She has always managed a 3hrA easy after a short nap but i will go with what you think.
and yes im sure she would have been better with a later am nap but i didnt know what to do! so with a later wake up she can have a longer am nap?
going out now but will speak later  :-*

Ok, so then after a 30 min nap, go for 3 hr A time! You know Daisy much better than we do, and 2.5 hr keeps giving a 50 min nap, so, try 30 min am nap, and 3 hr A time.  If she looks tired earlier, then go for 2.75/2.5 hr again.

No, hun after a later wake up we don't want more daytime sleep b/c that would case an EW again...What we mean is that by pushing the am nap to 30 min may help with making the pm nap longer and avoid OTness, AND move bedtime a bit later, so later wake up.  Does this make sense?

So, our plan is this:
6 am wake up
9.30 am - 10 am Nap 1 (3.5 hr A)
12.45/1 pm - 2.30 pm Nap 2 (3 hr A)
6.30/7 pm bedtime (4/4.5 hr A)

Remember, if Daisy looks tired before that, then put her down! Don't push her!

I think there might have been a misunderstanding  ;D  What I meant was that since she woke up later she could handle a longer a time and have the am nap later.  20 or 30mins ?  I don't know.  If she wakes up well with a 30min catnap go for it.  My dd never agreed much with the 30min nap but many babies do.

:(it was a fluke-she woke at 5.10am this morning!
after the 1.30 wake up we went out and she had 10 mins in the car at 4.30.i woke her as soon as i got home(4.40).i then went for bed at 6pm,i dont know if this was the wrong thing to do after she had had 10 mins maybe she would have been ok going to bed later.i had a right battle of screaming and throwing herself around the cot till 6,30pm when she flaked but that was it till 5.10 this morning!

so today, after waking at 5.10......Daisy has been with my mum all day so i could have some time with my ds.i left her with instructions but she had a wobbly and wouldnt nap at 9am but went at 9.30-9.50.....then 12.55-2.25(my mum said she woke her cos she didnt know if she was letting her sleep too late but she said she was stirring a little when she went in. so that was surprising...

what do you make of all that???

It doesn't look that bad, Lucy!! I know 5.10 am is way to early, but she slept almost 11 hrs during the night, not bad!

Wow for the long pm nap!! wooohooo! So, it seems Daisy likes 3 hrs A time after a 20 min am nap! I would go for a 7 pm bedtime and see what happens.  If Daisy is tired before that, then go for 6.30 pm.

What happens if you just let her be in her cot at bedtime when she is refusing to sleep? Will she play quietly and then go to sleep when she's ready? There is no point in fighting her! It's stressing to you and to her! So, don't fight her, put her in bed at the time you want her to sleep, but if she fights it, then let her play in the dark in her crib, and let her decide when she wants to go to sleep!
