With e we introduced lights on a timer at about this age, rather than a clock, and made a big deal of how the lights were on so it was morning, so as Ali says perhaps different wording would help her to understand it. I think she is old enough to get the concept, though - I know a number of toddlers who have got it at about 18 months.

I think the problem now is Stan, he's in a waking up at 6am loop and thunders to the bathroom like a baby rhino. I feel like maybe he needs a later bedtime but he's such a grumpy cuss in the evenings I just want him out of my hair and in bed! It's hard. Going OT now but sometimes I put him in bed at 7.30 and he's out to sleep immediately and I think YES he does need to go to bed at 7.30, and other days he's diddling about til 9 saying he can't sleep and I think he definitely needs a later beditme.
