It's time
« on: April 12, 2013, 11:18:15 am »
She's 18 months old, and I need a solid night's sleep. She does - rarely - sleep through without waking, and when that happens I feel soooo much better the next day. Also, we're in a patch of EWs anyway, so what the heck. From tonight, there are no more night feeds.

Hear that, Miss Audrey?

Good luck to you! DS and I did this at 16 months, and I think he knew I meant it and was going to hold my ground and it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought! Maybe it will be the same for you and Audrey.

Good luck - here to hold your hand.  It is absolutely worth it.

I remember when I got to this point with M, I told my friends that I wasn't going to feed her in the night and she never even woke up in the night after that! Here's hoping Audrey has got the message the way M did.

As you become more clear about who you really are, you'll be better able to decide what is best for you - the first time around

Hm well the first night didn't go so well. Not sure how I'm going to manage this with Stan. Thing is, he can sleep through A LOT, but, if he fully wakes, he can be awake for hours in the middle of the night.

I did pre-warn Stan that I am stopping Audrey's milk, and there might be some crying.

Last night Stan did a wee in his bed at 3am (v. unusual) and I think it was him running to tell me, that woke A. She was crying while I changed his bed and got him comfortable. Signing 'milk', sobbing 'up!'. I told her to lie down and go to sleep. She tried for about an hour, but after an hour she started getting MORE upset and then Stan started to get upset (he'd been awake for an hour too) saying "Mum you are making Audrey so sad! Please just give her her milk!". Plus I was second guessing because she only had veggie soup (albeit with cheese and bread, and yog and banana for after) for tea. She WAS hungry because she ate three bowls of breakfast!

So there we are. Night 1 = fail.

Oops, forgot to say. Yeh I did in the end. Between her and Stan crying, and me thinking she must be hungry (I was hungry), I just fed her.
