Oh I don't I don't know. Don't think he could hanlde 1-7:30. But he's doing a catch up nap for sure today thank goodness. He went down at 10:45 and he just woke up at 1:30. Wonder what BT should be?

If it was me I would do 6pm, maybe even earlier since pushing BT after a catch up nap always backfires... Even with a 6pm BT that's a  13hr day, yk?
Now that I think about it, I would probably do 530 but that probably isn't an option for you?

Well he woke at 5:30 this morning so 5:30 would be a 12hr day. On a nap of 2hr45 min that might not be enough? See that's what we've breen doing. On days he does a good nap but he woke so early BT is 6 and he wakes at 5. I think I'll do 6 but I'm worried once again he'll wake at 5?

Well then I guess you should try 6 then! At least then you will know if the problem is UT, right?
If you get a 5 am WU it will suck horribly but then you probably will know that you are dealing with OT and not UT causing OT...

Have you tried days that are shorter than12 hrs? Like 11 or 11.5?? I know that seems insanely short and that he never tacks but maybe you will be surprised? Do you really think that if he goes to bed at 5 he will wake at 4 for the day? Mine never tacked until the last 2 months or so but even so If I would do 5pm BT he might wake at 4 but eventually, it may even take an hour and a half of WIWO I can get him to fall back asleep for another sleep cycle or two. It is torture when doing it but at least WU is much later AND you got more sleep into him, yk? It has never happened where we got a 4am WU and we started our day, NEVER! If I stick with WIWO he falls asleep, even if it is just out of boredom, it always seems to work!

What did you do for BT? I've never done earlier than 5:30, but agree that SEBT has never backfired here either.  I don't really know how else you can get more sleep into him to catch up

We did 6. But 5:30 isn't sebt when he wakes at 5am its still a 12.5hr day that's my hesitation. He would not go to sleep at 6. After a 2hr 45min nap he just wasn't tired enough. He fell asleep around 6:20 on his own. Its 4:20 and he's cried out and rolling around. Hes just ss so we'll see what's what in the next hr... great its 4:20 and I'm up. Ugh. :/

Hugs honey, this age is terrible for teeth, and remember there is a developmental leap at 14-15 mths so hang in there :-*

Not sure if the EW is regular - I haven't read right though but if so you can try w2s, or if you think it's pain try dream meds? If your desperate like I ws when we had random crazy NW out of the blue at this age I gave a small bottle with pain meds and put Z back to sleep. I was the only thing that worked - it was only temporary.

not much advise but alot of empathy for these early starts, have been up here since 4.30 with the LO.
The only way we have found to help stop OT taking hold is doing 2 naps when WU is before 6am, 1 nap if WU is after and a BT of 6.30. We aim for a 12.5hr day but if WU is really early its just not possible. DD doesnt tack on either and usually only sleeps 10.5 hours a night.
After a really good nap yesterday we put LO down later at 7 and have got an earlier waking for it, not sure if its coincidence or if its teeth etc. but i think we will go back to 6.30 for now at least.

I thought I would try w2S but he always cries out around 4/4:30 which is when I would do w2s, should I try 3/3:30 instead? I've done dream meds and they didn't make a difference. Don't want to keep medicating if he doesn't need it ykwim? unfortunately 2 naps just usually backfires for us and makes our day extremely long and he ends up waking early anyway so then he gets even less sleep?  He's just so all over the place. Today he woke at 4:20 ss, woke at 5:20 rolled around fell back asleep at 5:40 woke at 5:45 and then was find playing in his crib till 6:15. Put him down at 11:15 and he was out before his head hit the mattress.. I can't figure him out.

My LO cries out around that time when OT. We barely get NW when OT, only early morning cry outs...

Im sorry... :-[ I totally understand!!!
I hope things get better for you!
Are you not willing to try SEBT just incase it might work? The fact that he did 11.5hr nights for a few weeks makes me wonder if he would tack on if bt was early enough, yk??
Maybe going back to an A time that you know works well for a good nap and then SEBT just to try?? Although, maybe when family isnt in town???

Yeah that's the issue. MIL is here till the 11th then we go away on holiday while she stays with Liam. I didn't want to leave him but it's an adult only trip and DH and I need (NEED) time away together. He's been away so much for work.

Today and tomorrow SEBT won't work due to pre-scheduled things and Sunday I'm away for work ARGH.. DH may not agree to try it but he might who knows. I just don't know what to do for the next 11 days I would hate to give MIL a super overtired crazy child because got knows what he'll be when I get back as she does not stick to the plan i give her. PITA.

What would a SEBT be though for a child who wakes at 5am
