As if newborn terrible sleep isnt enough
« on: August 25, 2015, 13:31:47 pm »
Hi Ladies,

So we have 2 under 2 now, im trying to figure out NB sleep, meanwhile Oskars sleep has become worse. His routine for a while has been

7wu
1nap-2.30/3
7.45/8BT

We had ups and down developmental messing about etc.

Now he is generally a darling at BT and will settle no problem, sometimes needs a cuddle ones.
But his nap started being cut short.
So today was :
7.10wu
1.10nap-2.25 he woke crying so i took him and put him in our bed and he drifted off i know he wants more sleep, so im letting him sleep. Well before we would get 1.30-2 hours of solid sleep without any wakings. So im baffled, does he need later nap now?
He still wakes ones in the night...he is 22 months today :)

Our nap certainly pushed out before it got dropped, so worth a try I'd say!

I agree with PP.  But if he's waking unhappy and wants more sleep, could something like teeth be bothering him?

Another option could be to push BT a little so his night is a tiny bit shorter and then he'll be more tired after 6h A and might nap longer... But on balance I think I'd push the nap as PPs have said :)

Medicated Oskar to see if that makes a difference for a couple of days, it doesnt. He wakes after 1.20 mins and cries, as i have Maks either strapped to ne in ergo or i leave him in his seat and take Os and snuggle him on our bed and he will sleep another 40 mins easily.
So i guess my next step is to move nap by 15 mins and see what that does.

So wu 7 ( 9 times out of 10 he will wake at 7)
Nap 1.15-3
Bt 8

And ill see what that does.

Havent managed a later nap, had doctors appts for the kids, i dont think anyone considers toddler sleep when they give out appt tomes in the middle of the day. So we will try for the next couple of days. Would u do a later nap even if Oskar woke earlier in the morning , so say 6.30 and not 7 am

I would tend to. My DS was regularly up at 5.30am or earlier and still didn't nap until 2pm.

Oskar has been waking at 6 or even before that in the last couple of days, which is so unlike him, and now i know why he has come down with a cold, needless to say he barely makes it to 1 at the moment, went to sleep at 12.50 and slept for 2 hours.
