well now i'm not so sure about keeping her up longer, 5 hours 55 mins A time and she only slept 1 hour.

I'm starting to think 5 hours 40 mins A time is where she needs to be...

Surprisingly, she had no NWs, and I woke her at 6:35am.  Should I wake her in the morning, or let her sleep?  I've been trying to be consistent with wakeup and nap time, and bedtime.

I would probably wake her up in am at present, just till she gets into a good routine then if you want to see how long she will sleep in am and shift day on from there.

so pleased things are going well finally :-)

Well we only got 1 hour again today, and she woke up crying.  I'm not complaining...

Again tonight it took 30+ mins for her to get to sleep.  I'm thinking she might be getting OT- so I think if she's still sleeping tomorrow morning at 6:30am, I'm going to let her sleep.  She almost never sleeps past 7am anyway...

Could you try putting her in bed 15 mins earlier, that might be all she needs to settle quicker.

It's weird as she sleeps all night, up today at 6:30am.  I may try W2S for today's nap, though I don't believe it'll get us more than 1 hour.

Glad to hear that her naps have lengthend to at least 1 hour! How much night sleep does she get? Maybe 12+ hours at night and a one hour nap is all she can sleep KWIM? If she is not waking in the night then my guess would be that she is well rested with that much nap and night sleep. Congrats, you deserve it!

more good news here then too   ;D

I think you'll find her nap extends as she grows into it, that can take months.  Lily used to do a 1.5hr nap and 12hr night.  She would throw in the odd 1.45hr/2hr nap but not very often.  While she is teetering on the edge of OT you can't expect her nap to extend hugely, this will happen once she fits her new routine better  :)  I'd say it is related to her having a 12hr night but if she wants a 12hr+ night then I would leave things be, night sleep is way more restorative anyway.  Lilys nap has just extended upto almost 2hrs, could be longer but I wake her at 2.30pm to preserve bedtime, the flip side of a longer nap is she is now sleeping less at night  ::)

Ha ha- I hear you on that on that one, new mum. My Maddie has just recently started extending her naps to over 1.5 hours, recently it's been 2 hours. But that means a later bedtime which I'm not used to and less night sleep. And yes, I'm trying to preserve bedtime too. If you had told me I would be doing this 3 months ago, I would have laughed at you!

Lindsay- hang in there! She may still extend her napping. I've taken your plan as my own and I'm keeping nap time as close to noon everyday as possible and it seems to be working.  Fingers crossed for extended naps!

OK- what gives?  Tonight it took M 75 mins to get to sleep.  She napped for 1 hour 20 mins (yay) and was up at 1:30pm.  I had her in bed at 6pm- is this too early?  The last 3 nights it's taken longer for her to get to sleep, yet she's slept thru the night.

Any thoughts?

Arrrggghhh!  Up early at 6:11am crying, she did fall off another 20 mins or so til about 6:39am.

Do I offer nap a little earlier, or go with the usual, 12:10pm?

And do I need to move bedtime up 15 mins, so she only has 4 hours 15 mins A time post nap?
