I wonder if I have been misjudging how long his final A should be on a 1 hour nap  .
This is what I have been wondering myself....

I don't have a grumpy toddler after an hour nap it's just I know something kinda isn't working.

Sian - just go shopping for the day!  Then she'll probably get 15mins in the car to tide you over and see what happens!

Maybe you're right Liz.....M naps from 1pm-2pm (we don't get nap resistance she goes down fine) with BT at 7.15pm (down) so on a good day is asleep by 7.30pm. Maybe this is too long an A time after an hour nap??

What time was J up this morning? Maybe do a 7pm BT at the latest? Gah, I don't know either!  ::)

Lol, Laura, that would be nice....even better if I could go on my own & persuade DH to babysit for the day!  ;)

Tough one isn't it Sherry.....I was hoping that M would keep her nap for a few months yet so that I could get E onto 1 nap too so I could finally get a bit of Y time, looks like they have a conspiracy going!  ::)

We're still bouncing between nap days and no nap days.  It's going quite well tbh.  On no nap day he does a 7pm-7/730am.  On nap days he naps about 115pm-245pm (I'm waking him at 1.5 hours) and then he'll do a 8pm-630/7am.  Am trying to get him to nap more now during the week as Amy has started full time school so don't have her around which makes it easier to get him down.  He's napping in my bed though and I have to lay with him until he's gone to sleep.  If I put him in his cot then he just messes about with his books/toys and doesn't go to sleep.

I've not been brave enough to try a no nap day but we've been caught in a bit of an UT/OT loop.....M's nights have gone bad again after a few days when she was doing an hour nap 1pm-2pm then 7.30pm-7am WU. She's now messing about for ages when she goes to bed (not going to sleep until around 8/8.30pm then waking any time from 5.30am  :P

I would give it a go - I really do think your LO is ready and will do you a nice long night afterwards - plus it will also give you an idea of where you are up to in all of it.

It is always wake ups pre 6am that spur me into routine tweaking  ;).

Jacob was been ill with a winter vomiting bug so has been sleeping  :). A 2 hr nap the other day followed by a 12 hr night. Lovely  ;D. Obviously the previous night the poor guy had been up all night puking  :-X. He is still tired as he recovers ATM.

I think you're right Liz, I'm just being a chicken!! DH has a week off at the end of the month so might try a no nap day then when he's here for moral support. Agree about the EW's..they always give me a kick up the bum to sort things out  ::)

Hope Jacob gets well soon, there's lots of nasty bugs around at the moment....

Well we did no nap today - just cos I figured it's gotta be worth a shot again.

O was asleep within minutes of going to bed at 6.30pm!!  We tend to be up around 6am during the week so bed is usually slightly earlier for us compared to other people anyway.  He was *so* cranky though at the time he usually naps so I'm not sure what we'll do over the next week or so...

Well DS was still up for over an hour in the night ::)  I don't know how long it would take for him to adjust to no nap during the day to get him to realise no waking in the night ???

He had 30mins in the car today after being at ILs but it was quite late so not sure what to plan over the next week or so...

Element of going with the flow really isn't it??

Odd day here - 11hr night last night then the wally fell asleep in the car at 10.30am for 30mins!! So that was it for the day. I thought he would sleep on the way home at 2ish but he didn't then.

So we will see!!

Oh Laura! You are right in that any routine change will take a few days to bed in.

I kinda figured that once I made the leap to no naps I would probably try & stick to it. I did the same when we did 2:1 (although I know some Mums alternate nap days & no nap days)....I guess the way I see it is that their body clock needs to re-set to not having a nap but by still doing some nap days this throws things off & confuses things. Not sure this is true, just my thoughts, what do you all think?

Hope your days have been better!
