Kirry you have a point.  Thanks for pointing that out  :-*  Don't remember what happened after the mmr except for some bust naps.

H, I hope baby H gets better soon.  That's really not like him to be so floppy.  Here are some  :-* :-* :-*  for both of you.

Anna how was Stan's nap at granny's today?

Sherry, hang in there.  We are almost done with this nap switch business blah!

Today was great  ;D  We went out all day.  A friend invited us to a pancake morning mmmm  ;D  K had a 30-45min nap in the am on the way there and 1.5hrs  :o :o on the way back.  Keep in mind that this was in the stroller and on the train.  The nap ended at 4.30 so we could get away with a 7.30 bedtime.  Tomorrow I'm trying for 1 nap so wish me luck.  I am going to aim for 4.5ish hours and watching her signs too.

Sherry, my instinct is that he still needs 12 hours unless he has napped over 2.5 hours. I am 95% sure that most of our EWs come from varying degrees of OT, but I'm mindful to be careful of too many early bedtimes in a row. Not quite sure how to handle it, but I'm hoping we'll figure it out ;)

Charm sounds like you had a lovely, lovely day! Good luck for tomorrow...

Stan slept 1.5hrs, 12-1.30, at his Gran's. Not enough, really, but still much better than the 30+45 mins he did last week. He was tired by the time I picked him up at 5.30, although holding it together well. Had a bit of a meltdown when we got home because we went straight up to bed instead of playing with the cat, but he went to sleep easily and instantly at 6.30pm. I'll be really pleased with another 12 hour night but suspect it will be earlier as 1.5hrs isn't really enough daytime sleep for him. Still, it's been only 1 week of 1 nap: he's coping really, really well. My little guy.

Good luck Anna. I hope you get the twelve hours.
So for the most part you've been doing 6am-12 then nap?
That 6am waking is what throws us off too. Going to have to bite the bullet soon and just go for it. I know I keep saying that :)  I think I'll wait until I'm done with kindermusick so that way I can keep every day consistent without having to worry about that class.

Yeh. On the days he's home we can do an 11.30 nap - or do 2 naps - but on nursery days like today he has to just get through. He woke at 6 and will nap at 12.

How has everyone's days been? Charm, did K have a one nap day?

Stan did 1.5hrs at nursery, which is OK, but he was exhausted this evening and very grumpy getting ready for bed. Fell asleep at 6.15. It's a bit of a catch 22 with the early bedtimes and early wakings. I know he won't sleep more than 12 hours, but if he sleeps less than 2 hours in the daytime, especially after a 6am start, he'll be OT if I put him to bed at 7 and will wake even earlier. Better to have an 11.5 hour night and a 6am start. I think. Gosh, you know you're a mother when 7am feels like a lie-in.

;D ;D Anna on your 7 am lie in - how true that is.

Well wouldn't wish it on any of you cos your LO has to be seriously sick, but H went back to the childminders today - a tough decision cos emotionally I wanted him here, and I think when he was awake he would have been better here........but as predicted he slept from 9.30 (after another 13 hour night waking up at 7) til......................1.30 :o :o :o :o :o Boy did he need that sleep eh?

Charm how did you get on - Sherry did you go for it yet?

LMAO at the 7am lie in Anna  ;D ;D

H, baby H must be really unwell!!!!  I'm glad he had that nice long sleep though.  It will help him recover.  This is the part I dislike about motherhood...feeling helpless when your bub is in need  :-\

Soooo, we did a 1 nap day.  K woke up at 7ish, and I put her down at 12.  She made a sound at around 1hr 10mins but went back to sleep.  Soon after the delivery man came and she went on sleeping.  After that I dropped a plate onto the solid stainless steel tap and I startled her awake  >:( ::)  That was after 1hr 30 mins, so not bad.  But I will never know if she was going to sleep longer.  Will try again tomorrow.  Bedtime was at 7ish.  I know, that was a mighty long a time, but I kept it really quiet, and she seemed ok with it.  The night will tell....or rather the wake up will tell  :P

I spoke too soon on the peaceful bedtime, just had half an hour of howls and screams while I did WIWO. Definitely OT. Oh well, nothing we can do but ride it out and try to do some catching up at the weekend.

Bless Harrison, what an epic nap! Poor bubs. They say that sleep is the best medicine.

Yeh it is, its just so frustrating he won't do the long sleeps here - then I could have him at home, still get a load of work done and he'd be happier when awake. But as I said to my Mum, now he's there 5 days a week, I'd rather have it that he sleeps there and not at home than the other way round - he's still really poorly in himself and his eyes are all puffy and red and swollen. His chest sounded better tonight though - but we also spotted another tooth coming through poor boy!

Yay Charm on the nap - I'm sure you'll be able to try again tomorrow - frustrating that she got woken up, but great that she coped with the longer A time - hope the night goes well

I have a miracle to report.........

Lyle slept 3h15m today. AND I HAD TO WAKE HIM!!!!!!!!

He woke at 1h30m went back to sleep, woke at 2h30m right as I was going to get into the shower and when I got out he had fallen back asleep!!!!!!! I was going to wake him at 3 hours but I kept thinking, I'm sure he's going to wake on his own. I hate waking him.... I was running around trying to get ready to go to a play date...... Anybody who knows anything about Lyle knows what a miracle that is.....

So this has been us.
4:45 wake up
5 hours A time
2h30m nap
6:45 asleep  (so a very long A time before bed)

Today 5:45 wake up (11 hour night, so can't complain)
5 hours A time
Nap 10:45-2:00  :o  I woke him  :o
In bed 7:00
Asleep 7:30

I have to say I am worried about tonight though. So we shall see.

Anna - hugs for OT bedtime. I hope he sleeps well for you.
Charm - hugs about waking up K. That is the worst. Good luck tomorrow.
Helen - I sure hope Harrison feels better soon.

Way to go Lyle!!!!! Wow these LOs sure know how to keep us guessing.

Stan didn't have a great night. He's been really great at sleeping through - even when he's OT we tend to get bedtime resistence and EWs, but not generally NWs, so this is quite unusual for him. He has got a very runny nose and an irritating cough, so I'm thinking he's not feeling his best.

After 6.15 bedtime, he woke at 7.30 and took 30 mins of WIWO to settle him, he was really mad, furious crying, throwing himself around the cot hitting his head on the bars  ::)  :o
Then at about 10 he coughed himself awake, but was v. quick to settle just needed his lovey back and to be laid down again.
Then at 5am he woke up crying and my heart sank but luckily, and amazingly, he went back to sleep very quickly.
Wake up for the day at 6.30, which is actually fine considering how OT he was at bedtime.

Hopefully he'll nap well at nursery today.

H, don't you wish Stan and H could swap a bit of their sleep habits, so H could sleep a bit better at home and Stan could sleep a bit better at nursery?

Jenn, how's it going there?

WOW Sherry!!  :o :o :o  That's a first!!  So you did bite the bullet and tried for 1 nap  :D  I hope Lyle keeps doing well with it.

H how is moo today?

Anna, do you think he could be teething?  At the moment we are on a break from meds, thankfully.

We had a pretty good night.  I woke her up at 7 this morning and did 12.00 nap again.  She is still sleeping for now, and I'm not doing any dishes today  ;D  I am still a bit worried because she was rubbing her eyes at 10.30 (her previous nap time), but I know sometimes they do that and with a little bit of distraction they get over it.  I hope so  :P

Yeah. I've decided (barring a complete disaster I am going to stick to 5 hours A time, no matter when he wakes up)

This came after the 4:45am wake up. He's been sleeping less and less at night with two naps, no matter how long they are. The day before the two naps together only equaled 2 hours of sleep, yet he only did 9 hours that night, and woke as happy as a clam. So I decided to just shoot for one nap at 9:45 and he slept 2.5 hours. As you all know I've tried the 5 hours A time varies times, and this is the first time it's worked. Yesterday same, 5 hours A time an that huge nap.

Last night he only slept 9h45m so he was up at 5:15. Annoying, but can't really expect anything more really. That was 13 hours total. The day/night before totaled 13.5 so maybe that his our top limit. Just put him down at 10:15. Went right to sleep again, so I have my fingers crossed. Hoping for 2.5.

Anna - that's a bummer that he's sick now. Hope everybody else is doing better.
Charm - good luck on the nap. Let us know how it goes.

Sherry fingers crossed for 2.5hrs!!

We had 1.5hrs again.  Then she did a big howl...silence...then a coughing fit....silence.....coughing fit..... and wide awake.  Any thoughts on the 1.5hrs naps?  K has always been a champion sleeper so I was kind of expecting longer naps.  Will they get longer eventually?  Or do I need to tweak?
