I got more milk into the day by giving EBM with meals instead of water - would that help?

I just don't get anything while pumping so it would have to be formula :-\ So you mean nurse her normally (whatever tht is these days) and then offer milk with meals also?

Jenn have you tried stirring her at the end (or nearly end) of a nap and trying to feed her sleepy, in a dark room? So sort of imitating the night situation?

Yeah, forgot you don't get anything pumping though...  :-\

I was lucky and could get plenty hand expressing (pump was next to useless) and was able to offer EBM with meals. It helped transfer some calories to the day and once I was getting some in the day, he seemed to take more milk in the day.

Oh Jenn, sorry to hear it's still rough :(  Was going to say the same as Charli.

What happens if you don't give her more solids and offer breast instead?  Presumably she just gets cranky?

Thanks Charli. I will try that as best as Ethan will let me ::)

I have tried offering her the breast again when she starts getting hungry 20 min after "nursing". She has the same reaction :(

Today I have just gotten frustrated and given her a formula top up after trying to nurse her. She won't take that either so maybe she is just getting enough overnight that she doesn't need daytime milk??? I don't know!

Is it worth cutting the solids right back Jenn?  Rosa's milk intake went totally backwards at 7-8 months, really dropped but then started waking at night as obviously solids don't have the same calories as BM.  I had to cut right back on the solids for 4 days and then very gradually built them back up again once she was taking proper milk feeds again.

I guess I can try it. I am just worried that she's going to be starving as she really hasn't been taking milk for a little bit now. So will I even have any supply left during the day?

How much did you cut back?

I have cut her solids way back. She still doesn't have any interest in BFing during the day :( I am sure by now my supply must have tanked :( Not sure what to do.

Oh Jenn, hugest of (((hugs))), hon.  I read through this a week or so ago and thought I had replied, but obviously it didn't work.  Not sure I have much helpful advice that hasn't already been given, but wanted to come along to encourage you still.  :-* :-*

Yes she is BFing through the night. I did try and give her a bottle Of formula for her first NF a little whole ago and she slept amazing. So I did it the next night too. Again, she slept amazing. Tried again and it went back exactly the same as she was. So I stopped giving her the bottle.

She has had a fever these last few days which might explain some of the problem here but is also worrying me as she is sweating a ton and isn't taking much for fluid.

She is waking so much at night, it's rediculous. Screaming for hours, etc. I honestly don't know if she is starving or what.

We are off to the doc again to see about an ear infection :(

Hugs Jenn! Hopefully you can get some support/answers from the dr. Can you ask about a prescription to increase your supply, if you do want to keep nursing? I forget what the drug is called... starts witha  'd' I think.
