Not expecting tonight to be so easy. I know this little one's ways...

Still feel like she won one over on me last night - I could have had a lovely sleep 11pm-5am in my own yummy bed instead of camped out on the floor! Ever feel like your tiny baby is laughing at you? ;D The (monkey) force is strong in this one.

Hi Anna -

good luck tonight.

I'm a true believer in bf babies never going 12 hrs at night till they are getting really decent soilds in them 3 times a day so I kept the DF (or early NF for those who don't DF) till 10-10.5 mths.

I also believe that the bigger the baby, the more they CAN take in at any one feed - once trained to do so. I had 98centilers as well and it was only by feeding at the end of naps and getting really good feeds into them (in O's case it was 15 mins, in E's only 5-7 but totally concentrated rather than bobbing on and off, 5-7mins) that we moved to 4 hr EASY and remained STTN with the help of the DF.

I think you are doing the right thing and I hope, hope, hope it works for you xxx

She has fed much better today, and eaten LOADS. (except for the BF where Stan marched into the room, when she stopped at less than 3 mins and would not go back on  ::) )

Second night, she was up from 12.30-1.30, back to sleep until 5am again, fed and then back to sleep and I had to wake her up at 8.15 (oooops! - I totally overslept)

For now I'm happy with feeding her at 5am... I don't think I'd have much chance of settling her back to sleep and don't want to start the day at that time! Do you think that's the right thing to do? If she wakes up at 5am on the dot for another couple of nights I will try Wake 2 Sleep at 4am.

Wow Anna, this is great progress. I would also feed her at 5, especially if it allows you sleep in after that ;)

Why do birds sing in the morning? It's the triumphant shout: "We got through another night!"

I am definitely not above feeding in the 5-6 am hour if it keeps the EW away. She's already done a nice long stretch by that point. Glad to hear of the progress, Anna. I hope the third night's a charm! :)

I still do this for my 12 month old when he's been asleep for over 11 hr. I don't think its bad at all ;) I also think given her age, this is quite a reasonable approach and if it gets you to sleep in til after 8, go for it! You need the sleep.

Ugh third night not good and Stan is back in the room so I'm stressing he's going to wake any moment. Up 12.45-1.45 and then again at 2.45... Feeling like I should just feed her :(

It's just so stressful trying to keep her quiet! If he wasn't here I wouldn't even have come into her yet for this waking.

:( Its not easy even without having a 4yo who's trying to sleep. You've made such good progress, I hope you are able to stick with it  :-*

Cheering you on from the other side of the world! Hugs too :)
