Thanks hun.  Fingers crossed.  She has already been crying in her sleep, but just went in and patted her bum and she soon re-settled.

Now if only I could get Tom Tom to sleep a little late, I might actually get some decent sleep in  :P He has been waking at 6:30 lately, have just extended his bedtime to see if that helps.

Hope things settle fast - it is hard to keep perspective when you are OT and everything seems wildly off track! Her previous temperament has always tended to sleeping well, so something has to have been bothering her at night to be so out of character - it will all eventually settle - keep stuffing the meds in, keep fingers crossed and remember 'there must be something wrong'!!! Big hugs!

Thanks ladies  :-*

Last night was not too bad, considering she did not nap at all yesterday.  Asleep by 6:30 had a NW around 3:00am ish.  Tried re-settling her and she would not settle, so gave paracetamol - she settled back to sleep within the hour, so not too bad.

She seemed to settle a lot quicker with paracetamol than ibuprofen, so will give the paracetamol a try again tonight if she wakes.  She has got a cainine that has just pierced the gum, so guess teeth really were the problem.  She is showing all the signs of teething now, not eating much and not drinking her milk.  So guess the sleepless nights were them moving in her gums like you all said :-*  I had to wake her just before 8 this morning, so she really had a good nights sleep.

She napped for 1.5 hours today at nursery, winged when I told her it was bedtime, but did not put up much of a fight.  Settled really well.

Fingers crossed for a good night.

Thanks again for all your replies.  I appreciate it ladies :-*

great to hear that you have got it sorted Paula.   It's so much easier when you know what's going on.

I'm glad she's doing better.  Those teeth are really awful.  I saw one of K's molars today.  It's still coming out and it looks disgusting  :-X

It seems we always feel we blame teeth for crappy nights and try and talk ourselves out of it and then boom a tooth, they can really cause terrible havoc can't they  :P

Canines were the absolute worst for us too - dd1 wasn't really bothered by any of them except those last ones.

Hope that your nights continue to get better.

Thanks for your messages ladies.

Friday night was the absolute pits.  She was awake from Midnight to 4am :o.  She was really cranky yesterday, so kept her dosed up on pain meds.  By late afternoon, she was really cranky and clawing at her mouth.  I gave her some teething gel and could feel that another Canine was just about to poke through.  She was also really clawing the back of her mouth so put some teething gel on the back of her gums, one of her 2yr molars is bulging.

She went to bed really easlily last night and thought that she would sleep well, only to wake up screaming unconsolably an hour later.  She was clawing at her tongue and putthing her hands to the back of her throat, and would not settle.  Offered her a drink and she refused.

Ended up at the out of hours doctors at 9:30pm last night.  Turns out she has thrush on her Tongue and Strep Throat.

Only got her to sleep at around 12:30am.  I must have fallen asleep on the floor in her room as I woke up there at 2:00am.

Let her sleep until 9:00ish this morning and woke her up.  Poor baby :'(
