we did try and drive around, he did fall asleep but only for 10mins then he was cranky pants the rest of the day, it was nightmarish... to be honest his SA has gotten extreme since i did WI/WO, do you think thats had soemthing to do with it?

Oh and Kayra - dont feel you are to blame for me doing WI/WO the other night! I did it before you even posted :) it was my fault, and you werent aware of the full situation... I wasnt either! didnt realise how sick he was.

I think I will take him back to the Dr tomorrow just to make sure his throat isnt sore anymore, hes still on Antibiotics. his NW's arent as many but they are long and Im so lost with his A times, I dotn know when i should be pushing him back out again to normal times. we did do a normal A time the other day but that was due to being out at playgroup, he only had one nap that day in the middle of hte day, he woke at 1 hour at that one as well and needed help for the rest of the nap, waking every 10mins. total of 1.5 hours that day, thought we were improving but seems not.

Lan - will do!! :)

weve got three canine tips cut through at the moment, one of htem is a little further ahead than the others but i know its painful, i hear him grinding his teeth, his gums look a mess and he just stops and starts crying in agony for no reason! im giving him iceblocks till i can figure out another way to help numb them, we are medicating and getting teethng gel onto his gums when we can get our fingers in there otherwise theres not much else to do!

Jo - teething gel can actually prolong teething - it can toughen up the gums and make it harder for the teeth to come through. I'd stick with the ibuprofen or tylenol, teething tablets, etc. A tiny bit of vanilla extract rubbed on the gums can help too. Big hugs - let us know what the doc says.

Never heard of using vanilla extract before  - does it work as well as the teething gel? My 6 year old is teething molars and is describing in detail how it hurts so boo to all those out there who don't believe teething hurts! (not BWers of course!)

It's pretty comparable - numbs the spot some and the vanilla is soothing both to the gums and tummy. Course you have to be comfortable with the alcohol content but that doesn't concern me given I'm only using a drop or two.

I'm following this cos I've been going through something similar with my 16month old. Feels like she's been teething/sick for ages! Its been at least 2 months and I can really sympathise. I sometimes wonder how long it can possibly go on or whether its all in my head!!  :o

Ohhh, thanks for the tip about the teething gel, I would never have known!
Although I have never really been a fan of it anyway as I can't seem to get it in the right place!!!

Well ladies, yesterday we were out all morning so after being up at 6.20am he fell asleep in the car at 11.50am so after his 3 hour A times the last week or so this was a long time forhim to be awake, he slept 1 hour 20mins, im presuming OT???? anyway, of course we couldnt get another nap out of him no matter what we tried and due to an appt he had bedtime at 6.30pm. didnt wake all night!!!!!! but was up at 5.15am!

Im exhausted, so little time to myself. he only sleeps such a short time in the day and then he doesnt do a long night.

Went to the dr yesterday who said his throat is still a bit red but chest, ears, everything else is clear, its just a virus (this is what i keep hearing everytime i go back to a dr) I asked about Whooping cough and he said it wont be that. i questioned it further but he said no, his chest is clear so its not whooping cough, so no test done for that.

was gonna ask if i can have an insane Mummy swab test done, cos thats what it feels like!

Dr said, keep him warm at night (so the heater is on in his room) keep the vaporiser going. weve had the vaporiser going for the past three months, the condensation on teh windows every morning is so bad theres mould starting to grow and I wipe it and air out his room everyday!! anyway, last night the vaporiser broke down, stopped working completely, its only about 6 months old but i guess weve used it so much its done its life expectancy??? so another week till we can buy a new one :(

Maybe today stretch him a bit but not quite the full A time and see what happens?

too late, did an A time of 5.5 hours (watched for tired signs) he slept 1 hour 15mins, i went in and patted him back to sleep and he slept another 20mins so that was ok i guess. we went out all afternoon to get him out of the house to play at parks etc. so his wake up was 5.15am, nap was at 10.45am - 12.25 and bedtime will be 6/6.30pm depending on how he handles it

It just annoys the crap outta me that he doesnt do a full night (11+ hours) and then he doesnt do a long nap to make it through the day! and he wonders why he ends up OT!!!!!!!!!

Tell me about it ::)

I mean if you think he's well now maybe you need to go back to your old routine perhaps?  He was doing well on the set times before he became poorly, wasn't he?

Was thinking today about going back to the set times, was just a bit worried after such an early wakeup of 5.515am that to push him to 12/12.30 wouldve been overkill just at the moment.
what do you think about pushing it gently? increasing it closer to the old time everyday until we get back there again? or do you think jump right back to it?
