I alwys try to think of solving EWs as adjusting to daylight saving - I try to push things forward over about 3/4 days. Seems to work for us - mostly!

what do you think about pushing it gently? increasing it closer to the old time everyday until we get back there again? or do you think jump right back to it?
What about trying to get him to 11/11.15am then 11.30 then 12??

It's a difficult call given he's probably still a bit OT but I guess you have to try and think about the bigger picture and getting him back to a more even nap / bedtime?

Ugh maybe I should put it on hold, it's 10.30pm and he's been awake for an hour! I've given pain relief but he's really unsettled and upset, the other issue is Ive just hurt my back and can't lean over the cot to pat him. I tried Wi/Wo but he actually stood up and put his arms out to me which he never really does. I did pat him for a bit till I thought he was asleep, then lightened the patting till it was just my hand on his back, 20sec later his head pops up to look at me! This happened twice after nearly 10mins of Patting and I'm like WTF??!! So I just walked out. It's quiet now but for how long......

Ca you fit your hand through the cot bars? I sit on the floor when my son is unsettled and put my hand on him through the cot bars, much easier on the back.

Yeah I did that, it's the patting that hurts my back, my arm going up and down, he started crying again 5 mns later so DH has gone to pat him.

So is this OT or sickness still or teething? I'm so confused, part of me wants to do Wi/Wo because I feel like he's "playing" us when we pat for so long only to have him pop his head up like that, it's like Pattng is losing it's effectiveness and when that happens we don't have anything else, he doesn't respond to APOP. DH justsaid to me, you know what these wakings mean? They mean an early waking too.... So no flipping rest from the boy! It's all day long, tiny little nap and short nights with wakings scattered through them, he's getting us all day and all night and early in the morning too.

It's really getting up my nose!

he didnt wake again after that, woke at 6am so 6.30 bedtime, 1.5 hour NW and 6am waking equals 10 hours again!

My back is really sore so i cant do any more patting, i cant do anything around the house! this boy is gonna have to sort it out soon, i dont think my body is coping with this long term anymore

right, well after a 6am wake up we managed to stretch him till 11.50am, he was fine, not really unhappy at all. cried for about 20 seconds before falling asleep then woke up 55mins later! i had to pat him and put my hand on his back off and on for 20mins, then when i left he started crying 4 mins later!

Hes not UT i know that much but for goodness sakes!
I cant do Wi/Wo at the end of a nap, it just doesnt work so that idea is out and when he woke last night it did sound like a pain cry. what do you think? bite the bullet and do Wi/Wo now that i feel he is better, its just his teeth now that will be bothering him

i've never had any luck extending naps, so I'd either try to squeeze a 30 min car/stroller nap out of him around 4 or else put him to bed early.

are you medicating before naptime? if his teeth are bothering him it might just help knock him out. Is there any chance he'd go back to sleep (when he wakes early from a nap) if you just left him? somtimes DS will cry out mid-nap and maybe moan a bit for a couple minutes but then he'll go back to sleep for an hour if i don't interfere.
That being said we're having short naps and ew here too, and i think the culprit is a molar, so i don't really have much advice as I'm trying to survive with my cranky LO here too :P hugs xx
