He napped at 11.50am for an hour.  I perhaps should've capped it but I needed the break and he needs to rest. I expect I'll regret that decision tonight :P

An hour shouldn't be a disaster he (& you!) obviously needed it. Maybe do a slightly later BT?

He was asleep about 7.10pm last night, but we had the same again this morning.  Super early waking sometime between 4 and 4.30am.  I went back to sleep but he was still going around 5.30am.  I went in and told him he had to be quiet until his light, I'm *hoping* he went back to sleep for a bit but I really don't know.

EW is really unlike him cos normally we have the NW...  I don't know what to do.  :-\  It's been about 4nights now.

I think he's probably been OT for the last 1.5yrs!!  That's the problem.  The thing is now that he isn't napping he is at least sleeping a long(ish) stretch in the night, we haven't been having the 12/1/2am waking.  Maybe I just need to keep plugging at it?

Vicky do you have any thoughts given you have BTDT!!

I've had to put him down for a nap cos boy is he GRUMPY!!!!  and that is *so* unlike him.  Even when tired he's normally happy go lucky so something's definitely not right and TBH I don't know whether that is just tiredness, his leg, his gland or just because actually he didn't go back to sleep after 4.30am this morning...

Just in a vicious circle I feel...

that's the thing isn't it - there are so many variables atm...hard to say if it is OT....I think my guess would be it probably is. Nap def sounds like a good idea while this gland is not right.

Maybe you do need to add the nap back in for the short term, even if it's not every day just until you try & figure out what's going on?

Even if it doesn't help his NT sleep a lot, at least he's catching up a bit during the day & you get a break.

Laura have you tried a totally set routine? Say for a week, naptime always 12.30 (try, anyway) bedtime always 7.30? Or is this pretty much what you do anyway?

Charli yes we've always had a completely set bed and nap time because he's been so unpredictable it helped me to know when nap and bedtime was regardless of nap length or night length etc.  But we did noon and 7pm due to havin to have an early start anyway.

So we had 4.15am again ::)  I don't understand what's going on!  He was asleep around 7.10pm so we had another 9hrs straight which is an improvement for him but then wide awake after.  He had about a 45min nap yesterday but the 4am waking was happening even when he didn't have a nap :-\  I've been going in at that time telling him the sunshine's not on and giving him meds as I don't know how much discomfort he's in atm.
