am reading along but have no advice to give, going through the same things here:/

This transition will kill me in addition to bunch of other things ;D. She is waking up during night hysterically crying and I am rocking her for hours

yup! rock around the clock here too.

we are on one nap a day now but have to compensate with EBT every so often. Still get NWs though

I just never imagined he'd be on this high A times at 10-11 months.  From what i'm seeing it's at least 12/13 and even 18 months before dropping that second nap.

How do you ladies organize lunch when you have a nap from say 11am - 1pm?  I gave Ben a snack before so I'm hoping that's enough to tie him over and then do lunch when he wakes up ???

That's what I'm doing. But it's not much of a snack. Usually just some cheerios and water.what kind of snacks do you give. I find myself limited sure to no milk.

I just have him a yogurt and some cheerios and some milk.  Yesterday in the afternoon I gave him some blueberries, cubed cheese, and some of a soft granola bar.  Not using milk definitely limits you because I find yogurt and cheese are my go-to!  And blueberries, I have pretty much spent my life savings on blueberries LOL :P

I bake banana muffins pretty regularly and he loves those as a snack, or you can crush/grind up a cereal (cheerios or otherwise) and use it to coat bananas.  I also have a great muffin recipe that uses baby cereal which is obviously a great way to get iron into them, and it's topped with any jam of your choice - yum! Ummm...what else?  Mum Mum's and Arrowroot's are good too, though I don't know how filling Mum Mum's are.  Even something like toast w/ jam or peanut butter (if your cleared on that of course) :)

Yeah h'es eating mum mums as a snack but they aren't very filling. Can you share your muffin recipe? He's not a bread eater but maybe something like a muffin he'd eat a little more moist? Yeah yogurt and cheese would be my go to :/. He's just not a big eater. Getting much better even over the past week.

It's days like today I don't knwo what to do. He slept for 1hr56 mins. What the heck is that. So he went down at 10:55 awake at 12:49 what do I do with the rest of the day? I could APOP in the rocker from 4:15-4:45 then BT at 7:15 (only 2.5hr A and 13hr day?) Think he might be UT at BT but OT for the day? Oy... Or i could do a super early BT 5:30 A of 4hrs 45min???

Because I don't have ANY success with a BT earlier than 6:30, I would try for the CN in the rocker.  But that's just me.

How's this...we've had super low A's all week because Ben isn't feeling well: 2-2.5hr naps after a 3hr A.  Today we do a 3.5hr A and a 1.10hr nap.  Now what the heck is that!?

Skadiver I am not smart enough maybe you could post the question on the nap board - Bec and Erin helped me with long NW - it is true it took two months with adjusting her but she does not have them anymore. Now we have some other issues  :-\

When I read about your DS he sounds like my DD a little bit so I will tell you my experience with her. She has never had 1.30 hr naps or very rarely and never consistent- when she was supposed to have two naps each 1.30 hr. She could deal with A time as much as I push but I realized that one thing is with what she could deal with and another thing  what is in some range IYKWYM? With help on NW board I decided instead of pushing A time (after certain time point) to cut naps (pm nap) - that was before transition - that is how we solve long NW

So I stopped at 4 hr A time, sometimes she does 4.10 hr but I always put her in bed like her A time is 4 hr. Week ago I started to cut am naps because she would sleep 2 hr in the morning or sometimes longer (not always) then she would refuse pm nap and NEVER accepted EBT - since we started with EASY. In addition we got EW plus nights became restless. Or she would have pm nap too late - I would wake her - otherwise she would be awake God know for how long before BT.
I can not put her in bed if she does not want to sleep - nothing works not even APOP. If I miss the window and put her in bed too late, God she could be awake... hyper... DH would say she is in the good mood but I could see that she is hyper not in the good mood.

I gave up aiming to have consistent naps and uniform sleeping - it has never been the case with her.

Why would you need to do APOP for am nap? Did I misunderstand something? Wake him after 45 min and next A time should be shorter - in our case is 2.5 - 3 hr, then let him sleep as long as he wants (they told me it should be at least 2 hr and we got it by now twice and today God she slept 2.5 hr - now I am worried what will be this night - long NW or some other trouble  ;D)  and make BT within 13 hr day (in our case it is always at least little bit later  ::)) Of course that we are fighting with that part but I could see there is no more fights against pm nap or BT - not in such bad way  ;D

She will be 11 month old soon and I think it is still too early for one nap even though I was thinking she could deal with it....

In our home compensation called super EBT or EBT does not exist - it is amazing how frustrated I could be when I read or when I was told shorten A time or make EBT - my child does not buy that not even wrapped in the best APOP solution   :'(. Few days ago she was freaking in the carrier and I was walking killing my back and legs ... Now I have just rocking and it takes forever when I need it ...

It NEVER worked for me and sometimes even now it backfires. But like last night he did one 2.5hr nap A of 4.75 before bed and slept from 6:15-6:25. If I put in the CN  I usually only get a 7:30-5:30 night. :/ But then it can backfire like the other day did the same day BT at 6:15 woke at 4 then 5:15 for the day which isn't an EW because it's over 10hrs but I was stuck for 45min rocking him back to sleep as I refuse to get up that early and start my day. It comes and goes and can be very frustrating.

i Know been there done that  ;D. After 5 am I do not even try with rocking I know that there is useless and I have moomy's thumb - very painful - now it is getting much better.
DD has had 10 hr nights for a longer period of time but what is surprising cutting am nap I think we are getting 11 hr or now I will jinx it  ;D

So you are doing the short am long pm nap? I just can't bring myself to mess with his AM nap he usually does such a good one and is so happy and content after I don't want a cranky baby from a short nap.

I know I was worried too but I was so surprised and still I am how she is in good mood after waking  :D. She is not in the good mood at the end of the day when pm nap was 1.20 hr (very often  ::)) and  her A time between naps and before BT too long - so I am doing APOP to get her used on shorter A time. Half independent sleep good bye  ;D. O by the way we have another issue DD - when she sleeps - music is on whole night and day - and if somebody talks, at evening even whisper in the next room she is awake  ::) funnnnn  :P

Oh that stinks.. Liam has the white noise on 24/7 in his room ( I just don't bother turning it off) But given our house is creaky as all heck it's so old I think he got used to it when he was little. :)
