Hi Everyone!
I'm back after a crazy couple of weeks.
Lyn-about the wheat...I think if you've given it to M and she hasn't had any reactions, you don't need to worry.
Vicky-I'm glad (
) to hear that your LOs are still waking for night feeds. Inez is too and I'd like to stop, but she doesn't seem to get enough calories in during the day.
So many of us seem to be posting about things that we think or other people think we should be doing. But we also need to remember that we know our LOs best and we have to live with them, so it's important to be confident in our parenting and to remind ourselves that we know best for our babies!
Inez and Sylvie are doing well with the BLW. I do a modified approach in which I put food on their spoons but they want to grab the spoon and put it in their own mouths. They do pretty well at feeding themselves, I must say. They eat rice cakes, cheerios, broccoli, green beans, sweet potato fries (made kind of like yours, Alissa). When I say eat I mean suck. I also do some purees and rice cereal which I put on the spoon for them - peas, carrots, acorn squash. No fruits yet.
Actually not true, they have sucked on apples before and once Inez bit off a piece about as big as a nickel. I kind of freaked out b/c I was worried she was going to choke, so I grabbed it out of her mouth.
Lyn - you talked about your Ped saying no proteins b4 a certain age. I think even with individual peds that varies. Mine said we can start with all proteins except pork, shellfish and fish. So there you go. She also said nothing "cream" so no sour cream, ice cream or cream cheese b4 12 months.
She also says minimum of 20oz of "milk" per day and at least 1 T of cereal per day - I think b/c of the iron.
I think it's time to move the girls up to two meals per day. Vicky - since you have twins too, how do you find that works for you? I notice it can take over an hour to "feed" the girls.
