CV - that is exactly the way to do it... low key activity and do a little bit of an EBT ;)

FPT - Remember that an OT baby at BT will EW far more often than one who is put down early after a good length of day with good naps :)

So my EBT last night failed us!  She woke at 5am, awake and ready to go.  I fed her (not a usual thing unless shes in a GS) and struggled for 1 hour to get her back to sleep.  She understood that it was time to sleep too and she tried really hard to fall back asleep but was so awake!  Eventually my DH was able to get her down but that was after 1 hour of trying and she only had to sleep for 1 more hour at that point.

Tonight she cue for a nap at 5:45 (BT is 7:00) we pushed through, I fed her at 7 and then it was miserable to get her to sleep!  I think she was OT!  Ugh, can't wait until the transition is over!   I have my fingers crossed for STTN!  Havent done that consistentantly since before her 6 month GS!

How is everyone else doing?

It is tough Val, but don't be scared to put her down a touch early for the first week or two of this transition... if BT is 7pm and she indicates that she wants a nap more than an hour before that, I would split the difference and try to have her in bed and sleeping no later than 630/645pm.

I'm discouraged!  It takes me 40 mins to put her down for bed (it use to take 10 mins) and she screams for most of it, also new.  Tonight we did quiet time, bath, eat, then her bedtime song and bed.  Is it worth it?

Hi, Val. :) We can't seem to get it right. :-\ He seems to still need the CN some days or wants go to bed at 6:00 or 6:30 (which terrifies me that he'll wake at 11 or midnight for a party or something!) BT is getting harder. He takes MUCH longer to go to sleep. If he's had a CN, he is UT and if he hasn't, he is OT!  ::) Is it wrong for me to want his BT to be 7-7:30? I don't want it earlier or later. That timeslot works for all involved, but right now it seems too late for him... but Idk. Ugh :P

Ladies, my jr is the same. Bt has become horrendous. I think ot....

Val, I think ur bby might be ot. If ur still skipping tht cn. Moving up bt stinks. I'm the same with atlantamomofthree! I'm not fond of anything before 7pm either. But it helps to catch them up. But it's eyes open eyes closed frm what I know. So if I pd at say 6:00pm ::) ....I'd hope he'd be asleep BY 7:00-7:30 as long as its been taking him to fall asleep. Bah.
My son is just 7 1/2 mths and we STILL can't get it right. :-/

This is tough. Boooo :(

After last night's craziness of BT @ 8 something (with no CN!) and then waking again at 9:00 (replugged paci, but this is not normal) I was determined to get him into bed earlier tonight!

When 5:30 or 5:45 came around, he was already showing super tired signs. I held him off until a little past 6 and then when I put him down he got a second wind and was happy as could be, rolling around in his bed. Haha I gave him 15 min or so to see if he WOULD go to sleep, but he couldn't. He was smiling and wanting to interact with me. So OT! ::) So I got him up (about 6:30) and went downstairs witht the family. He seemed genuinely happy to be with us, smiling, laughing, etc. He rubbed his eyes, rolled around in a blanket and finally got fussy/tired again. Took him to bed and he was out within a few minutes (7:10). Oh boy... :P

Wouldn't you say this whole thing was just bigtime OT'ness?

Hey ladies ;)

FPT - Jr is not OT.

Early bedtimes are a lifesaver during a nap transition only if you have a baby who will use the early night to catch up and still wake at their usual time in the AM.  Otherwise, you get a chance to see times with 4's and 5's at the beginning ;)  Been there!  445am was our worst ;)

What are everyone's last nap and A times looking like right now?
