Not to me hun... Alexandra is fine to drink a bottle when teething, she just screams when she releases her latch on it...

If his tooth is about to pop though, it could be that for sure!  Rub those gums before you offer a bottle... and stop forcing it :)  He will just get an aversion that will be reallly hard to overcome.

So do I need to be concerned that he's not taking any milk? Yesterday he only had 9 oz.  Today none! Nut on the other side of things he pooped two good poops today! ! Is that a coincidence?? I am really thinking its dairy intolerance!

I would be concerned - he needs the calcium and the fat for sure... and the vit D that milk has.  I would talk to the ped about it for sure...

I would hold off on soy milk - if it is a milk protein issue, the soy will likely have the same effect.  The proteins are very similar and most kids who can't tolerate dairy are the same way with soy.

I would just try to get some formula into him - will he eat baby cereal made with it?

I bought the soy milk per my pedi instructions....everyone that i know that's children have a milk protein intolerance do just fine on soy.  He only drank 2 oz this morning of it and didnt want anymore.  Its really good too, I tasted it so its not the taste.....

So, I will call the doctor tomorrow to see what I need to do to make up for the decrease in intake.  Maybe there is a supplement I can give him...

On a different note...his poops have been way better since he has decreased his milk intake...is that a coincidence you think?

I would bet it is tied together for sure!

Weird that your ped would suggest soy - the AAP doesn't recommend soy in the case of a suspected milk allergy at all.  They recommend HAF specifically.

Makes me wonder if it is the lactose, not the milk proteins??

Yeah its probably the lactose....that's what he thinks.  He is getting some of the soy too but its really not enough to make a difference I don't think.  Maybe 5 oz a day so far. :(

He took a 5oz bottle last night and another this morning!!! Yay!!! I have been rubbing orajel on his gums before every bottle and finally last night he caved!!! This is all of the soy milk.  So he is really going poop good too!!! HOpe it continues!! I will be angry if it was this easy to fix all along and he has been suffering all this time!! But happy at the same time that we finally fixed it.  Keep your fingers crossed for us!!! :)
