This is after all end of week two of no nap.  First weekend, when he was tired, he said he wanted to read on the couch to fall asleep!  Then easter weekend was all over the place.  Yesterday he wanted to sleep in bed at noon!  He is just exhausted, poor guy.  It seems sso cruel last sat to keep his eyes open by tv.  Thing is he could watch all day!  He is already addicted, would it stick if i do it every weekend?  I wonder if he still had NWs die to OS from tv?

We like to take him to the zoo, too but he would def. fall asleep!  So, if we get home at 4, an hour tv or bath and book, dinner, then bt.  Might be a plan.

Or even 15/20 mins TV - more books and/or talking about your day, bath with lots of playtime, etc.
The tweaking never stops!

Well..  He does at least an hour and then demands encore and has a meltdown!

He was crying and whining in his sleep at 12:30, then full on crying at 1:30.  He resettled quite quickly, though.  He just woke at 7:50!  Not too bad as he was asleep around 8:20.  I turned the radiator off but I am sure it isnt the only factor as white noise is on and he doesnt always wake around the time heating comes on.   The mystery continues...

((((hugs)))) hun I agree with Wendy, we found in the end even a very short nap caused issues at bed.  We just wouldn't be out in the afternoon and if we were at ILs (they live an hour away) one of us would sit in the back and poke him  :-X so he didn't nod off.  Honestly it was the only way.

I always sit at the back and poking doesnt work!!  Talking and even food dont help!!!  Unless we get one of these DVD player but i really dont think it is something to encourage!  I might need to get the visual timer thing.

Hi Koe, for us as well even a 10 min cn resets the clock and with DS2 even now it ha sto be done by 2pm anything after 2 even 5 min and bt is hell. But ove rthe years he has progressed i find 11-11.5 hrs more than enough for him at 3 and at 5 now he will take a longer sleep every few days (never on a wretched weekend) and make up for any lost sleep....
9 and 6, oh boy!

Yeah good point about it being done before 2.  Of course he gets extremely tired around 4-5.  Today was testing.  He had almost 11h last night no NW.  He woke at 6:40 and asleep at 6:33!  It is just nasty to be planning around sleep and too afraid that he would fall asleep even on the bike, so we were stuck at home and i just fell asleep watching Cars.  He demanded encore, of course!  :(.

When should i start to see some improvement??  2wks?  1 mo?  3mo?

This is like the third week!  He had two NWs, at 9:30, and 4:30.  The second time he was so awake and i guess took 30 mins to resettle to sleep.  He slept from 6:33-8:00.  Not bad then,  so we could do bt at 7!!  So if he wakes early tomorrow, it wont be too bad!

We might have to do set bt at 7:30 during the week.  Thoughts?  Best we can do is around 7-7:30.

Ok we managed 7:15 asleep.  It was so much hard work at bt as i got too organised and early bath before movie, dinner finished at the same time as movie, so too much time before bed, ds was completely hyper!!  Arghhhh. Already one NW at 9 but more like screaming from his dream.

You'll get there.  Although O is still waking at night he will very often sleep in.  E.g. last night asleep 6.45pm woke around 2.30am - got up to him twice in a fairly short space of time and he went for a wee - then slept in till 7.45am!!

Yeah!  Took us so long to discover that DS loved to sleep!  He was just so OT for so long!!  Poor guy!  It could also be that at a certain time he woke up to pee.  This morning at 4:30, he complained about a few things and then he finally said he wanted to pee but nothing came out and his hip was a bit wet!!  He might also be that much closer to PT!

Should head to bed!  Thanks so much, Laura!
