Claire what if she refuses the 2nd nap?  I tried a 2nd nap yesterday and she refused  maybe because the 1st was an hour?

Well my mom just put her down she said she was very tired. She went right to sleep at 9:25. We were up at 5:30. So do I really wake in 30 mins?!

I would IIWM.  Then follow her for tired cues for the PM nap. Oliver has done exactly the same today 9.30-10am & he will be napping 1.30-3pm if that helps?  Although he got up at 6am not 5.30, but he was up for 1hr during the night so I knew he'd be tired enough.  I have also had days where he's got up at 5.30am & I have held him out til 9.30 & still done 1.30pm nap, though just watch her closely as she may even go down as early as 1pm.  What you don't want though, is for her to have a short PM nap too, so its better to err on the side of OT rather than UT b/c at least that way you've more chance of getting her back down with a bit of AP if she wakes early.  I'd say the nap 2 refusal yesterday was prob b/c she napped for an hour - she maybe wasn't tired enough when you PD.

Hope it goes ok - I'm praying for a good nap from Oliver too!

Hiya - not sure this will get to you on time since we're in different time zones.  Our day went like this:

Wake: 6am  (BT last night 6.25pm BUT 1hr NW form 11.30-12.30pm.  Total 10.5hrs sleep)
Nap:  9.30 - 10
Nap:  2.00 - 3.30  (PD at 1.25 but chattered away til 2.  Prob not tired enough due to only 3.5hrs before AM nap)
BT:    7.30

If she goes down at 1.30-3, then I'd probably do 7pm BT, but if she's any later I'd push it out a touch more like we did.  In all honesty I think O probably could even quite happily do 4.5hrs A time after a 1.5hr nap, but I don't want to push things too much b/c of him being up in the night last night.  I'm not really expecting anything more than 11hrs tonight though, maybe even just 10.5 so its worth doing BT as late as she can handle.

Did she take a decent PM nap???  Really hope so.x

I agree with Claire completely... I would just keep an eye on her with the intent of doing BT at 7/730 if she takes a decent nap of 1.5 hrs... if she only does an hour, I would pull BT no earlier than 630 though.

WOW!  Alexandra has been hitting the OT wall hard the last few days with tooth #7 making a run for it... so I have been putting her down a touch early when needed and doing EBT when she needs it.  She went down at 930am yesterday after a tough night that ended with only 10 hours of sleep and likely that the last couple of hours were restless as well.  She was up at 520am for the day (GROSS) and so managed a 4 hr A time, with a bit of help... she slept until 1120am very soundly... I expected her to nap in the car after her shots yesterday at 330pm but nope!  She was OT and just cried :(  Got her home and fed her, she played with DH quietly and very happily until just after 6pm... into the bath and asleep at 645pm... not a peep from her until 720am!  OMG!  Even then, I think she woke because DH and I got up ;)

She went down for her nap without a peep at 1140am... vaccinations are not nice, but she does sleep so well for a day or so!

Tooth #7 is so close - not through yet though.

5:30 awake
6:00 went in and gave bottle
9:25-10:00 35 min nap

Kara glad she gave you a goodnight. Hope you get back on track soon.

I too am thinking 7pm BT we'll see how it goes.  She is spending the night at my moms for the first time ever. I will be there but still nervous. We ate getting new floors put in first thing in the morning. So I need to keep her out overnight do she isn't there when they get there. Think she will do fine though...I hope.

Yay Melissa!!!  I bet you were so relieved she actually napped!  Agree 7pm.

Kara - teething sucks.  I remember the incisors coming in well.  O got all of his at once at 8 months old - it was nasty. Ugh &  vaccinations too - poor A!  Did she have her MMR?  Hope she is feeling a bit better soon.

Here's hoping for a lovely night's sleep for us all.x

She did get the MMR... that one was in the arm - she isn't really bothered by it pain-wise though... her leg got stuck twice (meningococcal and pneumoncoccal boosters) and you can certainly tell that it hurts... she is drugged up on acetaminophen today :)  She does have a low grade fever so hopefully we can keep that under control.  The MMR is known for causing bad fevers that can get high very quickly... ugh.

She has two of her incisors - both on the left, top and bottom... the top right is so close but the bottom one doesn't appear to be on the move yet... sigh.  I suspect the last two incisors will come in and molars will start :/

6:30 and ms Ava hated the world so I put her down and she went right to sleep after her bottle at around 6:40. Little earlier than planned but she was miserable.  Rubbed her comes and felt a tooth starting to break through. :/ poor baby. Hoping got a good night sleep here at my moms and hopefully not too early of a wake up.

Ugh - Alexandra was hating the world at 530pm but there was no way I would put her to bed that early... she is getting a tooth too, so she does get sleepy sooner... though I have found that she will short nap or EW if I give in!  She was asleep at 720pm...

would you believe ladies, we got a solid 11.5hr night, awake at 6.55am YIPPEE!!!!  that's more sleep than he does on a 1 nap day!!!  B/c of the later WU there's no way he'd have gone down at 9.30am today, so we're back on the 1 nap.  I think I'm just going to use the 2 nap day as a means of catch up every now & then when his WU starts to creep earlier &/or we get NW's.  I now think that 1hr NW the other night was down to OT.  Has to be.
