Maybe he was UT due to the two long nights? It happens to F sometimes, when he has some longer nights.

Maybe Barbara. But weren't the two long nights catch up from the almost two weeks of short nights?!

They catch up a LOT quicker than we expect, so maybe one was and the other made him ut. But it doesn't matter anyway - it's your job to offer bedtime at a reasonable hour and set the scene for bed, his to go to sleep when he needs to. You can't exactly force him to sleep, can you?

My DS is so completely the same. This way the EWs will be 6ish instead of 5ish, and you will get 7ish sometimes as well.

It is the same for us: our ew 7-7.30 being bt 9-9.15 pm... It is still ealry days. 8 pm bt does not meand you won't have any 6 am start, it means that 5 am starts will hopefully be not frequent, and can be treated as nw (as they are if bt was 8 ).

Just thinking: is his room properly darken?
Ds often has a stirr at 9-10 h and if the room is not darken completely he wakes up.

True at least ew isn't 5 but his nights are too short. Last night was less than 9.5hrs. When he was having 6.30 BT wu was 6/6.30 and even with ewu of 5/5.30 he was still getting 11/11.5h sleep. So 6 am wu doesnt feel like a later wu esp when bt is so late compared to before. But I guess I need to ride it out if I want to push wu later ??? Its been 21 days of later BT. I was hoping for more progress than this..

His room has complete blackout cos he wakes at the tiniest chinks of light

Oh dear! I do feel your pain, but if you go back to normal bt now you won't have gained anything.

Hang in there! Low key afternoon, maybe? DVD after lunch?

I see but I remember a lot of your posts in which he was having long stretches of 10-10.5 h nights... So that 11-11.5 h were alternating with shorter nights. So it is not that 11.5 h was the rule. I agree that 9.5 h is less than 10-10.5 but you are shifting his body clock, and this can give some ew. And this is following two very long nights anyway.
How is his activity level during the day? My ds needs a LOT of running, jumping, walking, playing with the body, so that he needs to be outside a lot (or doing some actuvity at school or after school) to be proper tired. I don't think I could provide this level in other ways...

1-2hrs swimming or 3hrs in the park is the only thing that will get DS properly tired!

I kidded myself for ages that DS slept
11.5 hrs - really it was only when unwell, or catching up, or after NWings.

My DS really sleeps 10hrs. If you look at it over a month I would bet at least 20 days would be that. Few longer, few shorter.
